Thanks for repeating the test on the standard version! Originally it averaged 899 FPS on your test. It’s reasonably priced and averaged about a 60 + caliber expansion in the bare gel. This lot you tested was about 30 FPS slower then before. I purchased some already but I haven’t shot it yet. I paid under$14 per 20. IT’s performance matches many brands that are 2.5 times as much. I wanted something I could afford to train with and use with confidence. This looks like what I was looking for!

I just got a free FNX 45 from Cabela's. Got the Vortex Vioer red dot, but might swap it out for a Trijicon SRO. Shooting it supressed is awesome.

@@ToolsandTargets that particular ammo brand you're using for this test, I actually managed to purchase this same brand, but in .44 Magnum instead of .45ACP (as I don't own a 1911 handgun). Haven't gotten around to testing it out yet, as I only have a couple of boxes. But once I get a few more, it should be pretty interesting to see how they perform when I take my Desert Eagle back out to the range.

My .45 ACP has a 4" barrel. In testing a variety of rounds and weights, I've found the best performance in hp stuff comes from 185gr. .The extra fps helps the expansion, penetration is plenty adequate. A good test, Brian.

Again another great video. I always come to you when I need info on a round that I am considering as a carry round in my 45acp. Although these rounds performed admirably I am gonna stick with my Barnes X-Tac PD for now. As usual though you always give all the pertinent information I;m looking for when considering a carry round. Keep up the good work. You need to know , how helpful it is to be able to come to your channel and get this info. The ammo manufacturers are not always honest with their advertisement of the stats for their particular ammo. And the stats you get , tell us the god's honest truth. I like that. Take care Tools. I'd be happy with either of those. In my .45s I still tote the 230 gr Hydrashoks ... very dated rounds but I have a lot of 'em stuck back. They don't always do great in gel but I know what they do to a mean feral dog (impressive). I'd certainly take either one of these. Thanks! Friend of mine picked up some of that ammo inc. 9mm jhp from polmetto awhile back. It was super cheap. He was plinking with it then at the end of the day he ran a mag of speer g2 that he EDC. You could hear a big difference in the report and how much it kicked. But the ammo inc. Is a pretty clean burning rounds. He ran 200 that day and his g19 was still pretty clean.

I use Ammo Inc. 165 grain subsonic 9mm with a suppressor on my HK SP5 and after 100 rounds, I was really impressed by how clean it was. Even the powder left over in the suppressor was way less than others.

@@PropsandWings that's exactly what I thought. When he ran 50-60 g2 it was just as dirty or worse than 200 ammo inc., but they do seem to be under powered. He has never had a miss fire or dud with them either, every on has fire. I bet they do good out of that sp5. What's barrel length is it?

I don't use these in my 45 yet, but after seeing tests on the standard ones in 380 i started using them in my lcp. They're not pretty, but they all seem to do what you'd expect for a cheap hollow point. Just enough expansion to keep them from a passthrough. If it weren't for one of my local stores selling v-crowns for the same price I'd probably get these for the 45 too.

I have been looking for a good replacement for gold dots since they have gotten so hard to find. These bullets are looking like a good substitute. I wish you had a 460 Rowland, I'd love to see the performance at 1200 fps. Great test

Nice Job Tools as always. I think that thin copper plating is much different than a stronger thick copper jacketed bullet. If they are the right softness/hardness of lead they should expand easily even at lower FPS. . I would think it should be much easier than a hard copper jacketed bullet. I am amazed that the jacketed round did as well as it did. Thanks for showing us all this Tools.

Nice out of a shorty. I ran a Colt Defender Lightweight with 185 grain Speer Gold Dot and point of aim was on with good expansion in the testing I did. Also ran Underwood +p 185gr Unicore, (Gold Dot) bullet. That gave excellent expansion. I run G30 gen4 today with 230 +p HST and the Underwood +p 185gr and +p 230. If carrying the 45 in timber the Underwood 255 gr Coated Hardcast Flat nose is in it. I have yet to Chronograph it but the few I have fired are very accurate. They also have that rearward push common to .45acp.

I built a 9 inch ar45 years ago the extra barrel lenth gets 230 grain going 1060 fps I believe that would peel those hps open wide

Cool. I have that same PT1911 Commander and carry it with the Ammo Inc. JHPs. I also have a couple 50-round boxes of Freedom Munitions 45 +P XDefs. I like those XDef rounds. I'm a fan of Ammo Inc's defensive loads. They run them a lite hotter than other companies. Only their 45 TMC (flatnose round nose) was less than expected. I would recommend these. But now I have HST+Ps and have those in my 5" 1911. Nice test, Tools. Right up my alley 👍

I'm seeing a lot of these ammo Inc., I get a good price for them at the swamp meet . They work. Everybody knocks down the 45. Tell that to the poor soldiers that got shot by it through the years. I use Hornady flex tip on my 45. Great video like always.

Might sound crazy but I think for the money, the Sierra Outdoor Master is a great .45acp round. Punch is another good one that isn't crazy expensive.

If you want full size, the Rock Island I have has been a great gun. Not a single problem from it. This Taurus has been perfect too. I haven't tried a lot of different 1911's. I do have a couple fancy ones I haven't done videos on or anything. Appreciate ya!😎👊

They got like 165 grain HST in 40 size expansion.. there 2 of the largest projectiles I have recovered.. the 10mm HST out of a 8" barrel opens up huge too but that AAC stuff is hands down the best budget hollow points regardless of caliber.. the 158 grain AAC in 357 mag gets good expansion but not huge expansion but they go deep.. AAC is my go to budget hollow points in 9mm 45 ACP & 357 Mag.. i absolutely love PSA and everything they do especially there ammunition

I've never had much luck with the Ammo Inc branded stuff, really inconsistent from box to box in my area. Had one 50 rd box of 9mm and they were the only rounds that ever caused stoppages in my PSA dagger, G48, and AP5, but they were definitely a different projectile type than those 45's

Same here. Just finished teaching a basic pistol class today and we were getting loads of misfires with their 115gr 9mm rounds. Very hard primers - my stock G17 was leaving tiny dimples instead of decent primer marks. I shot less than 50 rounds and had 3 misfires. Other shooters had similar issues. Hard pass.

Slightly different topic. I shot a box of 50 Ammo Inc .380 ACP (that was on sale) through my Ruger LCP Max to test out a new guide rod and spring. The original guide rod was slightly bent after the first 200 rounds and Ruger sent me a replacement rod and spring. The Ammo rounds were the smokiest, sparkiest ammo I have ever experienced. I took apart the gun to inspect the guide rod and the gun was badly caked with carbon from only 50 rounds of Ammo ammo. I won't touch that ammo again.
