I've never seen tellurium chemistry on youtube before.I appreciate you for doing this(and perhaps also for being brave enough to do this,tellurium compounds are known to have a foul smell)

Nice to see someone else make this compound! 🥰 If you can do the hexabromotellurate salt too. It's a nice reddish-orange.

Very nice yellow color. I don't know if it would apply to tellurium, but in gold refining they often make aqua regia in-situ by adding HNO3 to the HCL in small portions until the metal is dissolved, so that you don't have to do repeated HCL boilings and can can conserve nitric acid. Very neat, thanks for sharing!

I just followed the prep from Brauer. But you're right. We could make aquaregia insitu

Fine sir. Whats use and properties ?
@vibzzlab Жыл бұрын
It doesn't have any particular use. Maybe I'll upload a seperate video on its properties

Actually could be quite useful as starting material for other tellurium compounds and complexes. I can imagine some simple ligand exchanges with nitrogen/oxygen/sulfur/phosphorus based ligands. Actually you can get quite interesting products. Also some alkali metals partial reduction in inert atmosphere could be fun :D

Uah, yellow chemistry... 😉 The slight contact with tellurium compounds might make you stink for weeks... 🤧
