I own 80 or so Niche bottles of fragrance everything from Argos to Xerjoff and everything in between even Roja, LV and Fragrance Dubois and King Bue is LITERALLY toward the top of my entire list. This is a BEAUTIFUL Fruity Oud. I prefer this over my other Fruity Ouds I own such as Ombre Nomade, Oud Maracuja, Vanikka Oud and others. You have to wear it to know it. This might be the FIRST 100ML I finish since I started collecting. Great review, and I agree with you this is one of the most fascinating fragrance I’ve ever smelled!

Same! It’s really up there for me. Curious what your thoughts on silver Oud are? I’m reviewing it today. I’m not as big of a fan of Silver Oud but feel it’s really nice.

@@CgScents Amazing scent. I admittedly am an over sprayer. ( I don’t know how to just do 2 sprays LOL) and with Silver Oud I spray my back and shoulders nothing on my front so the scent can engulf me in its bubble. And I almost always get compliments with SO and my spray routine.

@@TheRealMu-man it’s weird I wasn’t expecting compliments from silver Oud but got an unsolicited one from a stranger. That never happens lol.

@@CgScents LOL YES, it happened on a brisk LA night out in the night air with no less than 10 sprays on, 3 or so hours later. I’ve noticed that my scent style has developed into two extremes. Either I love the Silver Oud, King Blue, Royal Tobacco type of DNA’s or the Erba Pura, New Harlem, Imperium types. the middle of the road stuff like 40 Knots, Aventus etc I own but hardly ever reach for. My suggestion is when wearing Silver Oud FULLY commit don’t do the 2-3 spray thing unless indoors but to me SO is best suited outdoor activities with 10 sprays minimum. Let it move freely in the air and watch it change as your body heats up. A fun hobby deserves fun Juice like Silver Oud and King Blue. Spray hard or Go Home💪🏽

How do you spray your back? upper or lower back?@@TheRealMu-man

Layer this with Jovoy Psychedelic or Givenchy gentleman original and the scent is brilliant at dry down. You get the hint of the king and the chocolate patchouli in the air. Absolutely beautiful.

Before I'm watching: while I initially disliked King Blue, it slowly became one of my favorites. Top of its class, for me, personally. Thank you for this review!

@@CgScents nah, thank you, for all the content you put out there. I'm sure it's useful for loads of people, and I hope it's fun for you to do it. King Blue is top 5 for me, along with, in random order: Royal Tobacco, Interlude, Overture and Reflection Man, not just because they are great quality scents (for me), but mostly because I associate them with very specific beautiful memories. You and Daniel of @SeldomlyOften are the 2 perfume guys I enjoy to watch and listen talking about this expensive hobby we share 😅

You described this one really fairly and well. Good review. Just don’t like the heavy amber woods here. Makes it smell overly modern and sweet.

Actually not all oud smells fecal/barnyard. That’s mostly Indian oud. I’ve tried some pure Oud oils by various indie vendors, and some of them have nothing of that funkiness and have a truly amazing scent profile. I wonder why most perfume brands mostly use the funky/barnyard type. Is it because it is the cheapest/easiest to get variety? Or because it’s the easiest to get with some consistency on the scent profile for mass production? Or do consumers really prefer it or just don’t know that not all oud has to smell that way?

@@alessandrobottero6544 my friend doesn’t detect animalics in some oud namely Cambodian but I have detected animalics in every Oud I’ve smelled. Some more than others for sure. It seems to be subjective to some degree. Probably should have mentioned that if I didn’t.

@@alessandrobottero6544 I also only get it on the opening with some of the high quality attars but it’s 100% there for me. I sold a friend of mine a Cambodian attar and he said he gets no barnyard to me it’s there. BUT, he gets animalics from Musc Ravageur and I don’t. I think my silver Oud video demonstrates the subjectivity of animalics better than this video. It’s incredibly weird like that blue dress gold dress image.

@ that’s interesting, thank you for the answer! I’d be very curious to hear your opinion on the unfortunately discontinued ‘Oud Cashmere Mood’ by MFK - if you ever had the chance to smell it - because to my nose that one smelled extremely close to some Laotian oud oils that I have and that to my nose have zero barnyard facets.

Interesting that the Indian ouds that I have sampled were more floral and fruity. Compared to some Cambodi or Thai, that smell more medicinal. Why brands use funky oud? Because you are not smelling pure oud, you are smelling layering, usually with musk and other materials that create the "animalic" note. Also most of the time what you are smelling is synthetic oud note, and that can be off putting. Also the price. Compare cheap oud oil with expensive, or less aged to more mature oil. Big difference in scent, and big difference in the price!

@ I believe that the animalic aspect of Oud comes from the fermentation process that happens when the agarwood tree is infected with a fungus. Different regions distill Oud oil from agarwood differently which account for different accords being more prominent. It’s my understanding Indian Oud is widely accepted as the most animalic. I’m not an Oud expert nor do I care to be but it seems pretty much a unanimous take that Oud contains animalic components in Ouddict. I have smelled pure Oud oil on more than one occassion. If you mean lacking any potential impurities and being $1500 a gram I haven’t smelled that but for the purpose of communication I assume when Oud is discussed the average person is not taking it that far.

Man i love your content. Data, grafic, wife opinion => most important thing😂😂. Because maybe on MAN nose is beautiful, but on ladies nose whos know. Man i give you input, this is important. For "wife opinion" section, pls to provide "dry down strip",spray at least 1 hours before you start to take a video. All we know, the opening of niche fragrance maybe just stay for only 30 minutes. After that, they change for entire life. Soo, the dry down strip need your wife opinion😂❤❤

Thank you! Fortunately it was just backup bottles - partial 200ml of Nouveau Monde and a backup Gucci Intense Oud. I still love those a lot if I had to I would have let go of quite a bit for King Blue it’s prolly in my top 4 of all time.
