How is the efficiency of this amp? I watched your video discussing the main differences in new vs old school. One main issue was efficacy. Should I buy one of these amps at a bargain for two sundown sa8s or should I buy new and on sale? I've ran mainly Korean style tanks since ive been into car audio but recently bought ppi comps and an mtx 420 something and this mono im looking at used would kinda match. I only need 1kw maybe a little more @1ohm. Please tell me what you think. Thank you. I love your show. I watch it all the time and love the beautiful amps they used to make. Also, let me know if your in the market for a few new in box amps... like soundstream a 10.0, two matching xtant amps, I think 604 4 channel and the x1000 mono block I think, both mint condition. Also an Orion 280 gx mint, and a couple old DHS power cruiser amps still in box, white with red lettering and a black with red lettering. All fairly cheap around 150. Check online around central north Carolina. Just thought I would ask, I know things are hard to come by, especially if your looking. Keep up the good work. People seem to enjoy your knowledge you've acquired.

Bought a used one for around $350, didn't know how good of an amp it really was until i saw this. It's pushing a 15" Orion HCCA rated for 2000W RMS so this amp seems like the perfect match. I went to hook it back up after this winter and my sub now makes a small pop noise (it quit for a few seconds for some reason and came back) it just sat there through the winter so idk whats up with it.

meade916 Hey Steve, just wanted to say I've been watching your videos since 08 and you really inspired me into getting into car audio. Before I even had my license I was in my garage installing a system in my car(started with a RF P3 15" and installed RF Punch 3.5"s and 6.5"s in the dash & doors and RF Power 6x8s in the back) and it was done by the time I got my license. I eventually scored a Fully Loaded Fi BL 18"(knew Fi was a quality brand from seeing your videos when you had 4 BTLs) and stuffed that in my car along with the P3 15" behind it(for that high bass). If I never stumbled across your videos I probably wouldn't be into car audio as much as I am now(and I probably wouldn't know who the hell Psyph is lol). I just wanted to say thank you and I hope you get the time to read this, I know you are a busy person. I hope maybe in a few years I can come down to Cali and visit, I've been wanting to hear the Tahoe in person for a loooong time. If you respond to this or read this, thank you very much. Sweet! I just picked one of these up "broken" for $50 that "cut out" at higher volume. I took it apart, and it was the same issue as the amp in this video.... the speaker terminal was loose in the board and the solder was cracked. Hit it with a 250 watt iron, some new lead solder, and good to go. 👍 This thing sounds pretty nice, and pounds out some power. I'm going to recap it, service it, and store it away for a rainy day project. 👌

This whole line of Thunder Elite amps (TE) and the ones just before them that look nearly idential (TA line) are awesome amplifiers. I run a TE604 on my doors and a TE601D on my 10" MTX 8500. My other car has the bigger amps, the TE1004 4 channel and this TE1501D running a pair of 10" 9500 subs in a sealed box. MTX gear has always been rock solid, sounds good and this particular line have good looks to boot. Cant wait to see skme of the new gear they come out with 2024-2025+ as theyre makkng a comeback after just cruising theough the market the last few years with middle of the road and entry level stuff. I think they have a few tricks up their sleeves over there that will have everyone talking about MTX again.

This is the right place for my question, so I'll ask it. Ok i have two 12 inch kickers, two 12 inch pioneers, the pioneers are wired to a 900 watt 2 channel amp, the kickers are wired to a brand I've never heard of.. But here is my problem it was all working fine for about three weeks, then today i decided to see if i can get louder bass by facing the pioneers to the front of the vehicle. So i switched it around being careful not to Mess up any wires. After that

The thing I would like to know is this.... What is the difference between the MTX 1501D Elite, and the 7801D? The internals of both amps look exactly the same to me... 🤷 Also, both boards also look like you could add the factory missing caps, FETs, and resistors, and turn them into a TA81001. I'm not sure if the transformer and ultimately the rail voltage would be the same, but the extra rail caps and FETs would be a bonus in the 1501D and 7801D.

Always wanted to see a lansar opti 7k tested thinking of running one @ .5 ohm on four JL 13w6v2 subs. Too much power? or go with the 4k opti amp? the subs are good for 750 rms a piece.

Hey Steve any chance you could test a 3500 crescendo or a cadence amp I would love to see what them amps put out and what's your opinion on them amps. I use to have a cadence 1500 carbon fiber 2 channel that use to stomp a mtx 800 with my amp was unbridged. A guy had the same subs in a hatch back honda and I had a Firebird and I was 3 dbs louder than him.I miss that old amp it was badass amp

You should test the JBL MS-A1004 against the DD-1 and the CC-1 to see how it matches up

hey bro i got a pz3000.4 4 channel crunch amp but not sure whats the rms watts is on each channel but i note's that i had two interfier 1000 watts subs and blow both of them with the amp gain down but my Hz where high and i hade them on mono hook up could my amp be 750 rms per channel

Hey Bro. I apologize that this is my second time asking. But I have a te801d that has the same problem as the 1501.d in this video. I wanted to know if you could fix and dyno mine if I sent it to you. I bought it off eBay years ago. I wasn't informed that it was refurbished until I paid for it. I fucked up by mounting it to my enclosure. after I took the plate off I seen that, that way exactly what was repaired for the refurb. Give a price and I'd be honored to know that you had your hands involved in my amp running like it should. I'm pissed that the amp was advertised as new. looks new. But its not good for a amp to run it with a piece of cardboard wedged under the output to have it play. hit me back man. love your channel

even if i wanted one of those amps, which i don't, i wouldn't have a clue where to buy one. I probably wouldn't buy one just to test it considering it is a Brazilian amp and i couldn't imagine the hassle it would be to get it fixed if it blew up on the bench (or in a car). I stick with quality companies with fast and EASY customer service. If you want that amp tested, buy me one and send it. That's probably the only way one would ever land on my bench. :D

They still out there... I just picked up a 1501 Elite for $50 that just needed the speaker terminal block resoldered to the board, as the solder was cracked and it was loose in the board. Amp works fine. BUT, I am going to recap and service it anyway.
