Each to his own mate, Micheal Bolton’s stint with Van Halen was my favorite version but I get crap about it from all my larrikin bogan blokes. But I hear ya sometimes the original is the only version that moves me. Take Lynyrd Skynyrd. The new guy is good, but Lyn just had it man, he was the og.! No dis to AC/DC but Lynyrd released his 1st recording in the early 70’s. He’s the 1st real Aussie bluesman! 💯 Slash also stole the top hat from him!!!

I had to decide between a pie and a can of coke for 60 cents or a lunchtime concert from some rock band called ac/dc at GRANVILLE BOYS HIGH in 1975 . I chose the concert in the school gymnasium. What a concert it was. The problem was that there was a funeral at the church across the road from the school' gymnasium . As Bon scott was singing HIGH VOLTAGE ROCK'N' ROLL full blast, the principle came in and told the band to lower the volume. As soon as the principle left the gym, the band crancked it up again. What a lunchtime concert it was , I went hungry that lunchtime but I saw history in the making .

Something many do not understand with the so-called Bon vs Brian, -Example in the 80's many were saying ac/dc sound the same with every album. That never happened when Bon was their singer & writer, & who was very likely the influence for Back in Black as well. Their music with Johnson became too similar. Bons music had variety & even told a story on occasions

Angus and Bon were an unstoppable force. I can’t think of another case where the guitarist makes the band, but that’s how it was with Angus, and Bon was just the icing on the cake that blew AC/DC into the stratosphere.. the schoolboy and the larrikin, both wildly talented, just caught the imagination of Australian kids across the board.

1971 I went to a show at a local theater and on the bill was a band from Australia that totally rocked the house and were funny and everyone loved them. I expected them to be big but , after that night I never heard from Daddy Cool again...until the internet and I found out they were pretty popular down under. And in the latter 70s Angels were on my play list big time as well.

As I’m old I was lucky enough to see them on the “Lock Up You Daughters” tour in my home town in 1976. It was remarkable night and anyone who saw them knew they would be great, even though no-one had heard of them. I think Sounds music paper and Geoff Barton and the like sponsored it. Marvellous.

Loved this doc! Been my favorite band for 45 years but my favorite is the Bon era! If You Want Blood is the best live album of all time! It captures the raw power and shear magic of the band. Every Bon Scott articulation and every bite and vibrato of Angus’ SG is pure perfection. Listening to them these days, especially the Bon Scott records, actually brings me to tears because they’ve meant so much to me over the decades. Thank you for posting this amazing documentary!

I know the guy at the end wasn't insulting Bon when he said he wasn't the most technical singer but he actually was an extremely technical singer, I challenge anyone to manipulate their voice for an entire show the way Bon did and always sound exactly like the album, not many vocalists if any can do what Bon did. Bon had one of the most original voices in Rock history I easily put him up their with Freddy Mercury, Johnny Cash, or BB King!

I remember when Bon passed. I was in junior high school, and knew nothing of AC/DC. There were girls crying in the hallway when I was walking to home room. I asked a buddy what was going on, and he told me about Bon. I remember thinking a I wish I knew more about Bon and the band, but I was still pretty young and was just starting to learn about Rock music.

Aussie born in '65 I grew up with AC/DC watching Countdown and listening to albums and the radio. They were just great. That 'Jailbreak' video still sticks in my mind. When Bon died I really took it to heart and thought that like Zeppelin they'd fold. Then, less than a year later came the second best-selling album ever only behind Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.

I have loved this band since the late 70s, no doubt. As a band, they're easily IMO the best hard rock band ever. However, I'm currently reading a biography that some of you may have heard of and there are truly a plethora of AC/DC biographies. But this one goes outside the structured confines of the Young Brothers, where the storyline has been carefully protected all these many years. It's called Bon: The Last Highway by Jesse Fink. He's gone out and talked with myriad people who had various personal relationships with Bon and aren't afraid of any retribution by the Young's or their handlers. So you get a unvarnished, not always favorable toward anyone view of all kinds of people in the AC/DC hemisphere. For any of you that want to check it out. And yes, I've read every biography and watched every documentary I can find.

Well Done! The Young Brothers as a duo, etc. Were integral to each othrr's sounds. They needed each other, and helped Each other in no other way. They poloshed each other to perfection. I love Brian as well as bon. Both men have a unique sound that fits AC/DC’s music PERFECT! My favorite band of all time, and rap music is my favorite music lol

even though it's now 1/1/2024 right now as commenting, this is the 50th anniversary of AC/DC performing there first concert on 12/31/1973 at the checkers club at Sydney, what an adventure for AC/DC well mostly Angus Young, because he's the only Original member to survive and is still part of the band to this day.

Saw them in a little hall in ALLENTOWN PA. USA, called AG Hall in 1977ish with UFO. I became a fan from that time on!

Yeah , Bon was the ultimate for AC/DC. I love all his albums and one,the only one with Johnson is back in black. Bon wrote that album. Can you imagine how it would have sounded with Bon? Awe man ! I can only imagine.

Having read a certain rockers' biography, the band Fraternity sounds quite a bit like a NY band called Flow from around the same time...with similar results.

I played a heap of Nrl games, back in the back, say early 70's to mid 80's. In my formative years, I trained around the Croyden, Burwood and Concord area, kicking goals which was my best known attribute. I got to listen/witness the early days of ACDC at Concord Scout Hall, where I believe where they practised a lot. Many times on a Saturday, for some reason.

A nice, intimate and interesting documentary into such an epic band. Fortunately I've had a lifetime of listening to them and know all the songs, but if someone who knew nothing of the band watched this, they would still be none the wiser about what the hell they sound like! Why none of their songs in the documentary??

I was weaned on AC/DC growing up in the 70s. Angus has always been my favorite guitarist. Love the school outfit and his crazy antics while playing. As a female teen I would have people ask what did I want to do when I got older? My answer was always, I want to be Angus Young!! I wanted to play guitar so badly lol ❤

I remember being introduced to their music from the Highway to Hell album as a young 13 y/o. I was hooked and listened to their previous albums, going backwards from there. Then Back in Black came out. As far as Bon, he was irreplaceable, but Brian came as close as anybody could. It sucks that i I didn't have any friends that had a car, so i never got to see them.

I like it when both Angus and Malcom would waste no time giving any band members the sack when one was not cutting it. Obviously this was during the early incarnation of what eventually became AC/DC. The Young brothers were not playing in the sandbox. It’s worthy of mention anytime a lead singer tried coming across as a David Lee Roth type they got their dizzy ass kicked out of the band and quick. Malcom and Angus would have their tea and decide the next band mate in need of sacking.

Malcolm was the heart of the band & my favorite member, next is Bon. Had tickets to see them in ‘09 but a ice storm shut down the state, show went on ugh,,,Major Disappointment. Love the band!!

It’s fantastic to hear about Bon Scott’s earlier life in Freo. Hearing about the different venues which have now disappeared (apart from the surf clubs) & stories of the music history from our beautiful remote state of West Australia. It’s great that Bon’s ashes are interned back in the suburb of Fremantle where he grew up. ❤

I have seen about 200 shows in my life, mostly in clubs, but i have seen ACDC twice, heat seeker and thunder struck tours. I've seen metallica, kiss and plenty of smaller bands in clubs including kid rock when he was pushing devil without a pause. ACDC was the tightest most constant band followed closely by Kid Rock. Just a bare bones solid rock band. They had a routine and stuck to it flawlessly every time.

Seriously? The opening music should have been the icons themselves! My mother is a biracial (her skin tone don’t matter I know I’m just so proud of my mom and my heritage) Scottish immigrant to America in 73 or 74 she came here and met my dad and had 6 kids 3 boys and 3 girls and she told us all about AC/DC. All eras, The first song I ever heard was Hells bells. I was literally born in a bathtub because I was born early and my brother knew she relaxed to music better so he grabbed his stereo that had back in black in it. Sure enough as soon as I came out? Hells bells started playing. And from then on it was like magic. I grew up listening to these guys, I’m from Beaufort South Carolina USA. And I’m getting ready to be 24 on May 13. 2022 (as I post this) anyways I love all eras of the band I can’t say Bon is better then Brian or Brian is better then Bon. Because both are equally great singers. The entire band is amazing. All around. No matter what era you were born in you know them in some form
