Very nice setup with the SDR I guess you get full duplex operation. How do you handle that when you transmit and not blow the SDR, a switch? Very nice AZ/EL but it seems pretty expensive and not available according to their webpage (if its the version I think you have). I have an FT817 and KX3. I keep the FT817ND for eventual satellite work and have even considered getting another one for full duplex, CAT controlled frequency. The SDR would be a cheaper solution. I am still trying to locate a less expensive AZ/EL motor system. The control electronics are simple but the rotors more of an issue.

Hi David, Great Question and I am not sure what he had inline to protect the SDR. I could hazard a guess but it would probably be wrong. Maybe someone else will chime in. I believe his name is Paul and he can probably be contacted thru QRZ.com. That AZ/EL system there is expensive. Somewhere online there is a DIY project for a similar system. If I can find it I'll post it here. 73, Rich, K0PIR

I've never had a problem with transmitting near the FUNcube Dongle in terms of damage. To prevent it being desensed by the transmitted signal, it is behind an MFJ-916B diplexer.

Hey Paul, thanks for commenting. Now we know the real story, MFJ-916B! Great work at the Hamvention. Hope to see you next year. 73!
