I prefer the sound of ford engines but I’ve owned both and I gotta say chevy engines especially the LS family are really impressive for how much power they make while staying very simple.

​@@LL-rz5dtNot always. There are shops that neglect hygiene in general with spider webs that are 10 years old clogging the walls with debris all over the floors and cabinets. Doesn't take much to get a towel, clean after a job and throw the same into the sink and wash it.

Looks like standard engine assembly to me. Did you weight match each component in the rotating assembly, do all bearing and cam clearances, then carefully set up the valve springs and rocker geometry?
