Well done! Hopefully you're at least halfway to getting the old thing breathing again. Complete with yet another new groovy playout track! Wonders never cease :)

As usual, zenners are not the jellybean parts anyone stock in a variety of valules. God damn those. However, STK modules are a pain in the backside. Excellent video as usual. Cheers from Argentina!

I was gripped by the video - edge of the seat stuff - great entertainment. Ever considered Song for Europe? Loved the song - the style was contemporaneous with the hardware. Looking forwards to part 2 !

Such a tease, from about half way through I was thinking "he's not gonna have much time to work on the actual computer bit if he doesn't hurry up". I never thought it was going to take you so long to sort the monitor out, but as you warned at the very start there was a lot to go wrong if you didn't do the checks. Well done so far and I can't wait to see next weeks epic. Thanks for sharing.

I did intend it to be one video, but the monitor needed time to sort. Sorry

@@AndyDoz Don't apologise Doz, just make sure you add "part 2" to the next video🤣

Crikey Doz. You do like variety on your channel. From Quad to Amcrap! Do you remember those Amcrap TV's in the 80's that claimed to be stereo but weren't ? I think it was a ctv 2200. The company I worked for used to buy them in new for peanuts and take the Mullard CRT's out for the rental sets as it was cheaper than buying the crt from Mullard! Go figure. The rest went in the skip. 😆

Oh I do. They were awful, but an excellent provider of A56-540X! This is about the only quality product they made.

@@AndyDoz Hi. No, I watched the Arcam video thanks and left a comment about the notorious sticky disc clamp. 🙂👍

the first' computer' I ever used was an Amstrad 'wordprocessor' with top-mounted dot matrix printer that loaded software from floppy. I had no idea they also made microcomputers like this. Any idea what they sold for compared to the competition?
@AndyDozАй бұрын
Considering the monitor was included, they were very competitive.

Great repair and video, glad you don’t completely replace all of the capacitors. I do the same as you, replace the ones under stress that can cause other components to fail. Nice work 👍👍
