Nice to see your work again. I've been rewatching your refit build videos again as I've been putting off starting work on mine while I procrastinate about lighting options :)

The first refit I build, I bought a light kit. I now build all of my own lighting kits. It saves a ton of money, and it's really not as hard as you think. Good luck!

Can't wait to see this when it's finished up. Should look great with the work you do.

I actually finished it and gave it to my friend almost a month ago. Stay tuned, as I will have some updated videos on this. It's been busy around here!

Hi, nice log. I didn´t catch what colors did you use for light blocking? White for inside, then black from outside (instead of silver)? Thanks.

Since it's a clear kit, you want to leave the inside bare. I blocked the outside of this one with white, then a blocker. In this case, I tried silver, but I wouldn't do that again. I'd just go white, then black, then your base color. Be sure that every coat you do of black, you check for more light leaks.

Thank you for posting this build as I am going to be using many of your techniques. I do have one question to ask you regarding how you sanded all the raised astec details, and smoothed it out. My question is while sanding those details, did you end up sanding over all the lifeboats/escape pods? I want to sand those lines down myself, but I am worried about the square lifeboats. I feel that those should retain the raised look, and those squares are barely raised to begin with. Any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

I mostly tried to sand the lines down but left the lifeboats. I also tried not to sand around the windows, as you need to keep the indents so you can scrape them out. I would suggest scraping the windows quickly after each layer of primer/paint, as the more cured it gets, the harder it is to scrape off.

First off, thank you kindly for the response. I will give it a go and hope for the best. I'm actually not lighting this one, so painting in the windows shouldn't be difficult. I'm more concerned how close those lines get to the lifeboats, and around them, but I guess with a little care and patience I should be successful. Do you happen to recall what grit sandpaper you used?

Thank you for the tips. I sent a reply yesterday from my phone, and just noticed it didn't post. Thank you for taking the time to explain. Do you recall by chance what grit sandpaper you used?
