We don't see too many recovery trucks on the KZbin channel and this one is superb. The realism is awesome - the fact that you were able to make the cab sit correctly on the mounts is remarkable. I have this wrecker body and have considered mating it to the 352 cab from the old Turnpike kit from years past. Your model provides a lot of tips and much inspiration. Thanks!

@@karlturon427 also that scale model looks almost like the cabover tow truck in Terminator 2 except it was black & had rectangular shaped headlamps. That was the only part in that movie I didn't like when T-1000 wrecked it.

@@kevinrichards3288 Yes it is close for sure. The T2 Freightliner was a newer model (back in the day) with square headlights and a different grill. I did have some visions of that wrecker when I built mine but I always wanted a "brighter" paint combination. Thanks again!

@@karlturon427 yep the T2 tow truck semi was a newer model like you said & if I'm not mistakin I believe Freightliner cabovers with year models 1984 & down had round shaped headlamps & 1985 & up had the rectangular shaped ones.

Perfect, this doesn't look like a plastic model kit, you did a fantastic job. May I ask where you picked this kit up at. I have to built AMT s line of big rigs six different tractors and trailers, low boy trailer and bulldozer, several tow trucks, I would love to ad this kit to my big rig collection. You truly did an amazing job on this build. This is a competition build for sure .
@karlturon4273 жыл бұрын
Wow Harold, thank you very much for your kind words! So this kit is a combination of the 1/25 scale AMT White Freightliner cabover from about 5 years ago and then I used the heavy wrecker body from the 1/25 scale Revell Peterbilt 359 tow truck re-released in about 2013 in the blue box art with the XXL decals. There are many things about this model that are not stock like the 3408 Cat engine and the actual tridem drive. I try to explain as much as possible in the video... in short it is not a kit you can buy like this. It's truly one of a kind. Thanks again!
