I just fanned there on the 18th of this month and it was totally worth my $47 from Grand Central round trip! Great job and I hope you keep up the good work. Also, I hope you get to check out my New Haven video in the near future.

I didn’t know that the Vermonter still switches from electric to diesel and diesel to electric in new haven

Until there is electrification on the 308 miles of track between New Haven and St. Albans, the Vermonter will always still change engines from Electric to Diesel and vice-versa.

Colonial Railfan oh nice good to know.. when Amtrak electrified it from New Haven to Boston, I thought I’d never see an engine switch again in New Haven.. that said, they still do engine switches in DC cause south of DC isn’t fully electrified

Deadahead acela through new haven? That’s cool

A handful of some weekday Acela Express trains skip New Haven or Stamford. The train you’re most likely talking about in this video was Acela Express #2164, which skips New Haven and runs non-stop from Stamford to Providence. But every now and then a deadhead may pass through any station on the NEC.

Fantastic video! I’m a huge fan of this station. I’ve been here a couple times and I’ve fallen in love with it. I see the first video you posted was 2 weeks ago... is this channel new? Did you just start railfanning? If so, what made you decide to start filming these videos and posting them to KZbin?

Thank you! Yes this channel is new, but I only created it to replace my old channel which I created about 4 years ago. I've been railfanning for about 7 years now. I uploaded just for fun and to share anything interesting with other railfans.
