Those GP40's that CT Rail is running with have the strangest horns I've ever heard.....

That was the first thing I thought when I first heard them. During the rebuilds of the GP40s new K5LA-AUS horns were added due to height restrictions on the line. During their first few months in service they are a little fouled, however as time passes the horns do sound very unique, but at the same time very nice.

That's incorrect, Amtrak uses the ex-Metroliners extensively on the New Haven-Springfield Line.
