Wow, what a great video! Growing up in this area it's great to see that it still makes it to Cadillac. Too bad I live at college now.. It's also great to see 1225 in such good condition at last. Just recently, I was at my girlfriends cottage in Lake George so it was awesome to see it in this video. I loved your coverage and commentary. Plus, the fall colors are fantastic!

I always love their Pere Marquette 1225 as my favorite steam locomotive of all time, since it appeared in the 2004 Christmas Movie known as Polar Express. And I was born on the same year. Wonderful video.

Can you please ask the people who own the pere marquette to please change put the Sierra Railway 3 chime steam whistle on the Pere Marquette since that is the whistle that was usd in the polar express movie and can you ask them to build the polar express passenger cars in real life as well

I doubt it would sound the same on the 1225 due to the differences in operating pressure

The Pere Marquette’s whistle is literally 10 times better in my opinion. But it would be cool if they built the train cars from the movie.

I really doubt it, that whistle sounds amazing and the locomotive in this video was the actual locomotive that was used to make the steam and whistle sounds of the train in the movie "The Polar Express".

Also to add, the route the Cadillac Limited rode on is on the proposed North South Passenger Line, that’ll run from Detroit to Traverse City. Rumor is, the rail consultant are using excursion like this to somewhat give a idea of what passenger service can look like

I saw this locomotive last summer when the big driving wheels had been removed to get them rebuilt at the shop in Chat., Tenn, It looked like a sheep that had just been sheared.

It's air powered and difficult to hear from the cab when the engine is working, so It's easy to forget to turn off.

They use it at grade crossings. Guess where most video shots take place? That’s why you always hear it ringing.
