I know this comment won't get much attention, but I was a 8 year old kid sitting in those stands in 2002. When the last out was made in the bottom of the 6th inning, I began to cry to my dad thinking that the game was over. Taught me a very valuable lesson that I carried into my college baseball career: The game is not over until 27 outs are made. The philosophy of it never being over changed my life.

Dude I was the same age. Unfortunately we were way too poor to afford tickets for a game, but I remember my entire family watching this and game 7 in some apartments on Catalina right off of brookhurst street. That game 7 win, was insane. The entire city celebrated like there was no tomorrow. I remember everyone running outside and looking towards the direction of the angels stadium, fireworks everywhere. What a hell of a night.

So I elected to go in a wheelchair, it was worth it, going to a World Series game for the only time my team was in a World Series, you bet your ass in going. We sat in front of the inflatable gene autry Jersey. It truly was one of the best moments of my life.

Elestar Blogs I cannot blame Dusty for his pitchers blowing a 5-run lead in game 6. Barry missed the catch then made that bad defensive error that helped cost them that game. I'd rank the 2011 Cardinals as the 2nd best comeback. 1986 Mets vs. Red Sox is still the craziest, most wild comeback not only in baseball history, but in sports history. The Mets were down to their last out, down 2 runs, with NOONE on base. Then they were down to their LAST STRIKE FOUR TIMES which is insane. And to top it off, they tie the game on a wild pitch, and win the game on a ball through Buckners legs all during Mookie Wilsons at-bat! Nothing will ever top that World Series comeback, in my opinion.

Humble blue collar team, great looking new logo and color scheme, and of course a name that represented not just Anaheim where the team is but a name that proudly and accurately represented Orange County and Angels nation. The Anaheim Angels had finally fulfilled Gene Autry’s dream in every way. Unfortunately, Arty Moreno has torn it all down. He has gone after big white collar type contracts that have suffocated the teams payroll, he has regularly talked about taking the team to another city and he gave our proud Anaheim Angels name to our natural rivals in Los Angeles!!! We may have been technically formed in LA but we never had a home there. Literally, never had a home, then Gene Autry found a welcoming home in Orange County and we were happy. But now our name and identity has been given to a city that could not care less about it. But we will always have 2002, and a trout and Ohtani are fun to watch. This team had me a believer and they showed what it means to believe and not say die. I was young when they came back and was stoked for a movieliek finish

karma was so alive and visible at this series that u could damn near shake its hand. i love my giants but as fan of the game i just didnt feel like we deserved to win. and i was reassured of my beliefs after they won in 2010 when it was a real team and they won the right way and the honest way. i felt proud, like there is no argument about them not deserving it or cheating to win. fair and square.

when you say they didn't deserve it, is it because of bonds ? I'm just curious.

Always have liked the Halo Boys. Especially since they performed a miraculous comeback delivered from the Big Man upstairs. And i like to believe that it was just so Bonds could get his hopes up so high only to have them crushed and brought back to earth. He will never enter the HOF. Has had is lie erased from the books. And never got or deserved to be called a champion. Yes the Angels were made champions in the 6th game because everyone already knew that the 7 th game was gonna be won by them.

Fun fact: The Angels' comeback in Game 6 is the largest in World Series history by a team *facing elimination.* For those that know baseball history, the 1929 Philadelphia Athletics overcame a larger deficit (rallying from an 8-0 scoreline against the Cubs in Game 4 to win 10-8), but they were leading 2-1 in the series at the time, so they weren't facing elimination. They held that lead to go up 3-1, then used a ninth inning rally to win the Series 4-1 on a walk-off single the next day.

Lifelong angel fan but especially if the team between '96-'04 or so. Such a good story arch for this team that the core stayed together for years. Just wish Jim Edmonds woulda been in on it.

Great comeback, big collapse by Giants. I remember Tim Worrell, gave Barry a staredown after he botched that fly ball. Barry, was a defensive liability.

Oh how fitting that Baker was managing this game. Now both of the most recent 5 run comebacks in World Series history have come against him with some sort of villain team (Bonds and now the Astros)

5:45, when Russ Ortiz puts his water bottle down, it looks like he’s saying in his mind while looking at the big hitters for the Angels, “Oh shoot the big hitters for the Halos are up” 😮😮😮😳

Spezio's HR was IMO the Series changer. The floodgates opened after that. And this team was NOT a team that you let get one ounce of momentum, because as we saw they will tear you to shreds (Ask David Wells, etc)
