Amuro was a teenager and it was do or die. He just watched dozens of people die including Frau’s parents. Plus the Zakus were literally trying to kill him right up in his face. Amuro’s dad was rescued and they met again later.

@@ZombryaTheDark It does, yeah. It came out in 1998 (to celebrate the Gundam franchise's 20th anniversary), so it even predates Gundam Wing's Toonami run, which debuted on March of 2000. Both Mobile Suit Gundam and 08th MS Team premiered on Toonami in 2001.

You're kidding, right? The dubbing for this is terrible. Amuro sounds WAY too relaxed to be in a firefight. He should sound a bit more panicked and sacred in his first battle with the Gundam. Also, the Zeon soldiers called their guns "lasers" when the reference material clearly calls them 120mm machine guns.
