The "original" like you say is just there to be awesome. This one is more of an informative video that shows how the effects are built and it's also useful in order to get footage name.

Man, you´re right, I kinda keep forgeting about the movie since I watched it twice and first five-six seasons of SG-1 atleast three times, neveretheless if you want some nice tunel trippy flyby, there is nice one in movie Sphere (and in 2001:SO :D).

Anybody with editing skills can enter a video, the best ones are screened at the convention in front of the audience. I was wondering, do you make notes when you watch certain things...like lets say 17 minutes 14 seconds in is a "trippy tunnel flyby"? :D I mean even the Stargate wormhole travel is not that easy to find since this was the longer version which wasn´t in every episode :)

interestingly, i actually think this makes a better AMV than the original. :p that said, it kind of needs the context of the original to fully work, so... i suppose in the sense that it works perfectly well on its own, the original is the better. but i still like this one more, personally.
