WOW. I watched this years ago when I had very low self confidence. Immediately after watching this I began walking with purpose and without closing myself up (faking it). I soon forgot about this video. But in the last week, one person has asked me, "How are you so confident and how can I exude that same level of confidence?" and today another person asked me, "How do you walk the way you do? I want to walk like that." I was genuinely so confused by these two questions. My face when they asked me probably showed how speechless I was. But then I remembered this video and realized how over time I stopped faking it and eventually at some point unbeknownst to me I became it. How simple. Believe in yourself. Wow.

My teacher showed this to my class during my freshman year of high school. Now in my second year of college, I can truly say this video has changed my life for the better so much. I myself have "faked" so much my first year of college, faked being the person I want to be. Let me tell you...there will come a point when you suddenly realize you are not faking it anymore. One of the best feelings I have ever experienced.

The theory she postulates has been debunked several times in more rigorous studies. Even the co-author of the original study admits that there is no real effect. Yet she still claims it’s true. Not admitting to serious mistakes is not a quality I would wish for in a teacher, tbh.

She used a technique commonly referred to as p-hacking/data dredging to make spurious correlations seem meaningful. You could basically call it fraud. That’s not an overstatement. In social psychology text books this is now described as one of the primary examples of faux studies that forced social psychology into a so-called replication crisis.

The most important thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks, Gold, silver and digital currencies.

I remember watching this video a year ago, when I was studying at college and struggling with the same thing as Amy Cuddy back at that times. This video really helped me to overcome all the difficulties that i had and boosted my confidence a lot. I started doing things, that i never thought i could do. That’s how I became a better version of myself :) It was also interesting to learn how our body language affects on our self-awareness. By saying it, I mean the fact that it comes naturally and even blind people act in the same way during the victorious moments, as sighted people do. I just want to say a huge thank you to Amy Cuddy for giving this speech. I think, that this video should be shown at schools and colleges, so that students, could draw on her experience and gain motivation from Amy’s personal story

Amy Cuddy, you are one remarkable human being. This is so insanely accurate. I work in a male-dominated field (agriculture) and I see these power stances ALL THE TIME and boy are these guys confident. The rare farmers who don't have that stance are usually the ones who aren't achieving the yields that others in the same region are achieving and man, you can just see the lack of confidence exuding from them. I myself feel like all the time and I have been stressing about how limiting my lack of confidence is. I can't wait to start implementing this and teaching to people.
@CosmopolitanFools
@CosmopolitanFools 5 жыл бұрын
Ms. Cuddy is more than a voice that can coach nor even instruct upon methods. She supplies a wide range of attainable means that transforms based on individual mind-sets. Imitative behavior is often banal but essential on levels of awareness & non-awareness - with Ms. Cuddy being able to supply target examples, which affect thoughts / feelings which can be grasped & embedded within us, as social animals + as self-aware beings. Her talk supplied examples, snippets of facts, & a LOT of groundwork that adds weight to her arguments, adding effective measures likely to get results. She is a woman who is a force of Nature, believing in her words, a product of a life that made such concepts as valid resources to build within ourselves a better "us". Thank you, thank you for such an informative, potentially life-changing, talk.

I watched this for the first time today and realized that I did this without even knowing.. I started performing on stages and when I first began, I had so much anxiety I couldn't even believe I was doing something so outside my comfort zone. But the more I did it, the more I came to realize how much I loved it. I've come so far and people don't understand when I say that I have really bad anxiety yet I'm a performer. It's so hard to explain but sometimes you just have to push through!

It's really nice that she was able to overcome the fear she was facing. However, the "Fake it till you make it" strategy is NOT the right Philosophy. It's not FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT.......... it is always ---> "FAITH IT TILL YOU MAKE IT" To live our dreams and desires we do not have to fake them. We need to have FAITH in them and then pursue our hustle till we start LIVING them.

And the truth, boby language is an interesting and amazing thing. Thanks to this video, you can make a conclusions for yourself. I want to become more determined and confident, there are many such people who are not confident in themselves. They need help in this. The most important thing in this life is to believe in yourself and go with out any obstacles. And the everything will be fine.

wow, it was unexpected to learn that our body can change our consciousness, but I think this is what I really should have heard, because I often feel not confident enough in situations when it is necessary to speak in front of a large number of people. thank you, it was really interesting to hear about body language and its influence on ourselves

I want to say thanks for the great advice. it's fun to start pretending if you're scared or confused. I never imagined that I would find such an easy way to deal with anxiety. I will use it often. it will really help me a lot in life. thank you very much again

Thanks for an interesting story. I really liked this phrase: “fake it ‘til you become it”. I was motivated by the story of the accident and how you make your dreams come true. For me, body language is a very interesting topic to discuss. Your speech inspired me to be more self-assured and positive!

That this over simplification of body language is considered life changing is revealing of shallow our thinking is.The information is worth hearing but there is not short cut to confidence but flimsy confidence.

In ordinary life, you don’t think about the fact that body language can say a lot about a person. You don't notice the person's body language. Perhaps only on a subconscious level. Even when you try to understand a person by paying attention to his movements, you don't think about it. Indeed, body language can say a lot about a person. Someone behaves like an alpha, someone behaves like an omega. You can pretend, you can decide for yourself who you are or what kind of person you seem to be. Most of the time, people do just that. Some seem strong, but are actually timid. Others seem timid, but a dragon lives inside these people. We can influence our mind with our body. We can force ourselves to be strong. And soon the brain will begin to think that this is actually so. We have the power to completely change our lives. Everything is within our power.

Profound. Fake it until you make it. One can only assume that at the top of a spear, the leader can only be chosen this way.
