This whole story is such a mess, a lot of romanticizing a grossly inappropriate affair. Media treating it like the next Hollywood blockbuster or something. People seemed more excited by the story than they were disturbed by it. Fancy paying an attempted murderers $2 million bail in the 1990's (worth approximately $4.5 million today) just to secure rights to their story...A story you should have been getting from the victim, not the criminal. People covering the story were just as seedy as the affair that started it all.

I absolutely do not condone Emmy’s actions, but it’s genuinely infuriating how some people are so quick to heap all the blame on the girl or her parents, while barely mentioning the man who was 19 years older than her. It’s blatantly clear that he groomed her, yet people seem willing to brush off his behaviour as if it doesn’t matter. It’s incredibly frustrating to see how much focus is placed on Emmy’s wrongdoings while ignoring the much older man who was clearly in a position of power and influence over her. How can people look at this situation and only blame Emmy or her family, while conveniently overlooking the fact that a man almost two decades older knew exactly what he was doing? His actions are equally, if not more, responsible for what happened. Yet, people keep letting him off the hook as if his behaviour isn’t predatory. Both Emmy and the man should absolutely be held accountable, but the way people minimise his role, simply because he’s older and male, is appalling. It’s so frustrating to see society continually letting older men off the hook while placing most, if not all, of the blame on younger women. The age difference alone makes it clear that there was an imbalance of power from the start, and the fact that people are willing to ignore that is beyond disappointing. Both parties should be held responsible, but it’s high time we stopped ignoring the fact that this man was in a position of influence and power, and that he used it to groom and take advantage of someone much younger. This double standard is exhausting and unfair. It’s easy for people to point fingers at a young woman and make her the scapegoat for everything, but let’s not pretend that the much older man in this situation isn’t equally guilty. The fact that Emmy is being vilified while his actions are brushed aside is exactly why we need to address these kinds of predatory behaviours properly and hold everyone involved accountable.

Meh stop the feminist narrative, women know their power from a very young age, it’s nature…

Maybe that was during the 1990's Today the western society ALWAYS puts all the blame on seniors and older men. Have you heard of Passport Bros? That's the trend - young and middle aged men, brainwashed by ultra feminist, picks on seniors and older men, forcing them to retreat to Southeast Asia. Why do we behave like that? Probably the high amount of beef in our diet drives up our hormones. Maybe it's time for us to eat more eggs, fruits, and veggies.

It is unbelievable how, after Emmy’s release, people are so quick to shift all the blame onto her, conveniently ignoring the fact that her ex-husband was a complete predator. He was 19 years older, and she was underage, yet he only got 6 months! How on earth are we just sweeping that under the rug? And the fact that his wife even stood by him at one point just makes it even more ridiculous. I can’t help but laugh at how absurd this all is. 😂 This man manipulated an underage girl, barely got a slap on the wrist, and somehow it’s Emmy who’s being made to carry the weight of it all. His wife finally divorced him, which was about the only sensible decision in this entire situation, but the fact she defended him in the first place is beyond baffling. The double standards here are outrageous. How is it that people are ignoring the real issue - that this man groomed a minor and got away with almost nothing? It’s time people start seeing him as the real problem.

I really don't see the attraction. She was definitely groomed (I mean, going into prostitution?!!!). I think Amy might have had some personality traits that aren't too favourable but a young girl completely lost her youth over some older Geezer. it's gross!!! and all he gets is 6 months?! 🤢🤮
