As I was driving to work exactly 3 weeks after my wife left me for another man across the country, this song played. When I got to the office, I typed out the words and hung them on my file cabinet. Those words stayed there for over 20 years when I retired and took them down. God provided an inspiration just when I needed it. Truly God did turn my life around, and it took some time just as the song said

I remember when this song came out, my parents were going through a nasty divorce, I was 7 years old I asked my mom what does it mean to say "to get your feet back on the ground" she replied "sort of what your father is going through right now, he is trying to get his feet back on the ground. I understood the meaning instantly. My father made a lot of mistakes but did end up with his feet back on the ground.

this song has saved my life. I think the meaning behind the pictures being taken is that when you have your picture taken , you always want it to look good and be flattering but these pics are showing what's under the surface - like how the mother daughter one, they look cute now but when the daughter becomes a teen it's going to look different. and this song is about how you can't make some problems instantly go away, it can take some time to get back on your feet again. This is one of my all time favorite songs. Amy sings from the heart.

This is what I needed right now. I just left my church of 20 years because of judgmental people, gossip, and rumors. All the things that destroy a church. When I left, there were only about 30 people left, when once there had been almost 400. I was one of the last of the core. When the core starts leaving, you know something is TERMINALLY wrong. I wasn't the first of the core to leave, either. I am afraid to go to another church at the moment. This is the third church in my lifetime I have seen meet this fate. It hurts more each time.

The song encourages us to WAIT. The turn-a-round process might take longer than expected but it will turn around (turn out) for your good. Just picture the Titanic and how fast it was going. The captain would have to slow the ship down to a reasonable speed for it to turn around. Remember, the path we choose could be disastrous, BUT with God (divine) intervention we shall be saved!!!

Seems like in this modern day and age, people want things to be done in an instant. Sometimes this just isn't the case. This song is a reminder that some things happen only if you work gradually at them. It takes a little time for the things that really matter. And you really can't fix everything with money.
