It's just a sad reality check that we are all getting older and that we have to cherish each and every day cuz life is so precious. I was devastated when Thuy Trang died and now Jason David Frank. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was more than just a kids show, it was a show about equality, fighting for what's right and to stand up for those who aren't as strong as you are. They made being a kid in the 90's so much fun they taught us so much about life. My heart goes out to my childhood crush Amy Jo Johnson as well as Austin St. John, Walter Jones and David Yost.

I met him at PMC 2022 months before he passed away. I waited in line for six hours. My knees were in so much pain. I only had enough money for a selfie. He signed my white ranger helmet for free. He was so open when I met him. I miss him so much. 😢

This hurts even more when you realise how closely connected both Tommy and Kimberly were during the Mighty Morphin' days prior to Katherine's introduction. So, to lose a lifelong friend whose been with the franchise for such a long time must've been heartbreaking. I hope Amy is able to grieve and make sure his contributions to the series are remembered. I’m on summer break, and I’ve been rewatching The Power Rangers on streaming since I have so much free time. I haven’t really had the opportunity to process Jason David Frank passing until watching the show now. It was my favorite show from my earliest memories of being 3-5 years old, and many of the original cast members were the very first characters I ever saw on tv. Jason David Frank, Austin St. John, Amy Jo Johnson, David Yost, Walter Emanuel Jones, and the precious Thuy Trang-everyone on that show, they were all my first characters I remember watching. Some people grew up with Superman, some Batman, some Scooby-Doo, some Garfield, others Marvel. In the 90’s, I grew up with the Power Rangers, and losing these actors over the course of time feels like I’m losing a piece of my childhood. I can honestly say I love you guys. I’ll never meet you, but you’re prized so deeply in the hearts of your fans.

Same, just got that feeling recently. Haven’t watched power rangers since elementary. I just saw a fight scene I haven’t seen of Jason/Tommy, watched it and wondered when he did that? It was the fight scene of the evil robot Tommy as the black Dino thunder ranger and the real one with the master morpher. After I saw the actual full episode I started rewatching all the episodes he was in, becoming the evil green ranger, losing it, gaining it back temporarily, losing it again, becoming the white ranger, becoming zeo Red, becoming Turbo Red, meeting the other red rangers in wild force, becoming Dino Thunder black, fighting his old selves, came back as the green ranger for a cameo, then came back again as all his old rangers, then that fun video he did as the Green Ranger vs Ryu from street fighter. If anyone ever asked me the question who are your top 5 people who’d like to meet that aren’t here anymore, Jason David Frank is one of them. 😔 Also everything you just named, I grew up with all of them 😂Marvel, DC, Anime, Disney XD, Cartoon Network, Star Wars, and obv power rangers. Got into every cool franchise just cause I wanted to see what why everyone else liked what they liked.

Now that is the Pink Ranger that we know and love. Representing kindness, strength, valour and empathy. But that is someone also mourning the loss of someone she really loved and had a close friendship with. For all of us 90’s kids who would finish school or get up Saturday morning just to watch the Rangers in action, collected the toys, lunchboxes and even those of us who took up martial arts ourselves having been inspired by our heroes being the Rangers, we are honoured to have been part of something so huge and great, an era that can never ever be repeated and is etched in popular culture in iconic status indefinitely and I know I’m not alone. I remember when she did this for Jason, when I first heard Jason’s death, it hit me very hard. I was 10 years old when Power Rangers came on, and the real favorite part of the saga was Tommy Oliver. He was truly the icon of the saga, and he’s missed terribly. Amy Jo was also one of my childhood crushes and hearing her sing this for Jason, was so beautiful and special to do this for a true friend. When I heard her perform this, I cried. We all miss Jason and it’s never been easy to lose a true icon of our childhood. Amy Jo was so blessed to do this. I met Amy Jo Johnson at LA Comic Con 2023 and 2024 and she was so kind and nice. She signed a Pink Ranger print and one of her Pink Ranger comic books for me and we took pics together. Really breaks my heart seeing her grieve over Jason Frank's passing. Losing a close friend or family member isn't easy and I'm hoping she's doing well these days.

I met him during a tour of comic book shops in the middle of covid. He smiled through his mask at the trading cards I'd brought to have singed, and he liked so much how his signature had turned out on one of them that he started taking photos of it. I was a 90s kid who looked up to him so much, and if I'd only knew the pain he was in, i would have thrown my whole being into helping him heal and rediscover himself. But we seem to live in a world where its always too late for our heroes...

It’s been a year since Jason passed and i still haven’t been able to make it through this video. It chokes me up inside because Jason was one of my first favorite superheroes and I’ve always admired and appreciated him. I am a late 90s baby (1997) but my older cousins introduced me to the original Mighty Morphin Power rangers when i was a toddler. I also was born on September 4th and I’ve always bragged about having the same birthday as Jason. I’ve struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts myself throughout my life so getting the news about Jason’s passing really broke my heart and i never got to meet him. I can only imagine how Amy Jo, the original cast, and the rest of his close friends and family are feeling. May the Power protect them all. RIP JDF, you were and always will be the greatest Power Ranger ever.

As someone who’s also struggled with suicide in their past, it’s especially hard to see your first childhood hero go in such a way. My best memory of him was at my first con. I’d finally caved on going to DragonCon because I heard he’d be there. Went to his panel and really loved how down to earth and humorous he was. Of course, I had to get in line to meet him and buy an autograph. Waited and waited in that long line and finally got to the front only to be told it was cash only for merch. I swallowed my disappointment and figured a handshake from a guy I’d admired so much would be more than enough. He gave me a firm handshake, heard out my appreciation, and gave me an autograph for free. Hell of a nice man. Someone out there is an Angel bearing a shiny, golden shield.

No matter how many times I can try to sit through and watch and just trying to get through the first minute let alone 17 minutes because see Amy jo Johnson in tears brings me to be choked up a bit, it's so hard to imagine someone when I was a kid looked up to, the power rangers is who I wanted to be when I grew up, but it's not the power part of it all, it's the everything else that surrounded them as they were those characters. Watching this a few days after Jason David Frank's passing, and I'm very heartbroken. As someone who was a kid in the 1990s, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was more than just a "cheesy kids show." It was one of the first shows that I got into with the mindset of a writer -- helped me learn about things like storylines, following the characters, and understanding how these characters interacted with each other. The show had an impact on a lot of people including myself, teaching us what rriendship and teamwork were really all about. My heart breaks for Amy Jo and all of the Power Ranger alums who worked with JDF and bonded off-screen. He was the bedrock of that franchise -- a man who brought smiles to millions and taught them lessons that they can take home forever and ever. While he will be missed, his legacy will never be forgotten.

I remember this came out the day the news broke. I wanted to watch it, but I kept crying and couldn't get to the end. Now I want to hear what she had to say about JDF! That guy and the whole Original Power Rangers Cast played a huge role in my life! The show taught me it was ok to be myself and different from others! After being bullied, picked on and called a Failure in life, I had suicidal thoughts 😢. I remember I was about to jump off a 3 story resort until a maintenance man was walking by and he talked me out of it! Then I followed the show more carefully, and it helped steer me into a new Path! I needed this good cry, but this is not the reason I needed it to be. Such a loss. Took me a few weeks to even try watching this. Always reach out, not everyone is paying enough attention to small hints. Sometimes it seems tough to ask for help, sometimes pride doesn't allow us to show weaknesses. Just know that being human isn't weakness.

When I heard JDF passed, I started watching a bit of Power Rangers media to pay my tribute to the greatest power ranger in the universe and after watching a bit of Power Rangers, I started to become a fan myself and then I began to realize that it's not just kids that love Power Rangers, it can be adults too.

I remembered hearing the day of Jason's death. So many friends checked in with me if I was okay. I was busy that time so I couldn't process this all in. But during that week, I saw Jenna's post and then this live video of Amy's video. And I chose the wrong place to watch these. I was at work. It shattered me. Tears came down, coworkers asking if I was okay. All I can say was I needed time by myself. We miss you, Jason David Frank. More than you could ever know. I hope heaven is giving you the respect you need over there. You truly deserve it.

I grew up watching power rangers with my cousin and sister. I was a little bit older and it was a bit of a guilty pleasure. Now I long for those much simpler days of innocence. I know it's been a year since Jason Frank committed suicide, but when I found out he had done it, I was wrecked. I couldn't stop crying for a while that day. I was much older than all the intended viewers: that being kids. I didn't see that way. I was 16 in 1993, So I was the same age as the characters! I really enjoyed watching Tommy Oliver become part of the "group" that Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini, and Kim already were, with him being a new student at Angel Grove High. He got to be the Green Ranger! I liked that story arc; him going from being controlled by Rita to joining the Power Rangers to fight her and minions. It was because of watching the "out of suit" fight scenes that they all had to do, that got me real interested in learning karate. I enrolled at a local karate school in 1996 at 19, so I was out of senior high for over a year and also enrolled at a local community college. The karate classes were great! I stayed in it to achieve my black belt in 2003. I attend a local comic con ever summer, and Jason Frank attended in 2017 and did a Q and A panel. I got to ask him a question about his karate training! It was so awesome to hear him talk to me, and also the others in the room. I had never had contact with a former Power Rangers actor. I will always remember that moment when he answered my question at a comic con. RIP Jason Frank.

I remember watching Mighty Morphin growing up and my first reaction seeing Jason Frank playing Tommy was the best character and my all -time favorite Power Ranger from him being the Green Ranger, then White after losing the green ranger powers, white Ninja, Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger than Black Dino Ranger. Tommy was the best when he was green and I will always admire the way he continued the legacy of being the greatest Power Rangers of all time him being the Green Ranger was my favorite version and he was by far the best fighter and it was cute of the love connections between him and Kimberly and Katherine but when I heard what happened to him it broke my spirit and my soul my favorite Power Ranger of them all gone and Yh I know how badly that sucked knowing that another Power Ranger especially Trini was gone he was a great man and a great Ranger with an amazing heart JDF u will be missed and you will always be remembered in our hearts and soul and I do hope that your in peace I will miss u my friend but always remember one thing “Once a Ranger always always a Ranger Man! If I'm hearing this right, I'd just like to say that for anyone reading this and you feel lost, hopeless, sad, depressed, or any of those horrible feelings, don't stay silent, please. As someone who has suffered severe depression and attempted suicide, reach out to someone, anyone. Just talk it out. There's no shame in asking for help. It's not taboo anymore. I just finished writing a superhero book called Super Troopers. My father is a musician and is a lead guitar player. Kimberly the pink ranger had me interested in gymnastics when I was younger although I never took it up, but discovered exercises in the fitness industry has similar workouts.
