This makes me tear up. I'm 13 and discovered this band a few months ago. I think I know quite a bit about the band. I love Ben Moody for his contribution to Fallen and how great it sounded. The guitar, the vocals - everything sounded perfection! I just miss Ben in Evanescence. Ben and Amy were literally the perfect match. Even though their new stuff is pretty good, it's no Fallen. Even though I know Amy wanted to dive into her songwriting skills, and Ben wanted to make music that was quite mainstream, I just really hope that Ben and Amy would make up and become best friend again. Please. I know some would be like 'Oh wait but Ben was abusing Amy', yeah, Amy admitted in an interview that she would do it too. They'd punch each other in the face (she said). Please, I beg to see a reunion between these two. Please...

No. They were too toxic together. Nobody should ever lay hands on each other. Being that Ben is a man, his punches would've caused more damage. It's because men have stronger upper body strength in order to do heavy labor while women have stronger legs in order to carry babies. Women's upper body strength is also softer because they need it to carry newborn babies in their arms. In physical abuse situations, men need to not hit back. They don't realize that one blow can kill their partner. I hope you understand.

Back when Fallen came out, She did an interview and had briefly said she was engaged to Ben. It was very out there. There is also a track called "You" that tells about it. It was a song that got linked and was never suppose to be on the internet.... And in the song "The Last Song I'm Wasting on you" you can kinda get the message about their relationship. She loved him though and you could tell. I mean, they were the beginning of Ev :) Both have gone their separate ways, but both are talented

This is completely false and pure fairytale from you. The interview where Amy confirmed she was engaged was her engagement to her now husband Josh. And there was no romantic love there between Amy and Ben. They only dated for some time when they were teens in high school, not afterward. Ben was a toxic, physically and verbally abusive, controlling a-hole who made Amy's life miserable amid all the other turmoil she already had in her life and nearly destroyed Evanescence. Amy and him will likely never again have anything to do with each other, regardless of what he says. Ben himself admitted he was toxic and that he was also a drug addict when he was in Evanescence. The fact that he's bipolar as well confirms how volatile he was with Amy. Since then, he was also accused of domestic violence by a former girlfriend. As a victim of abuse, Amy has no obligation to embrace an abuser again; whether she ever feels like she can be in the same room with him again is her right, not his or anyone else's to determine, and I support her either way there

If the musical differences between their "post-Moody" material and their earlier work are any indication, his songwriting contribution was one of the main reasons I really started to like Evanescence. Sure his style is more "commercial" but they were able to keep the pop side of their music without it sounding commercial in an overly simplified, mediocre way. It was a great fusion of musical sensibilities, and I miss it, but if it was what was best for the band, then it was what was best.

I listen to the new album and the lyrics make me think about she and Ben. She's happy... in a safe way. But not in a REAL way. She and Ben belong together and will never be complete and truly happy away from each other. But will they solve their problems and forgive each other in this life?
