Even though her low range is a bit foggy, the belts have power and grace, as well as being well-supported and correctly placed. The head voice is SUPERB and VERY well-produced, as well as foreward.

Falsetto.
@hossamkandil85238 жыл бұрын
actually that's head voice, not falsetto, so it counts as a part of her vocal range :)
@7dayspking8 жыл бұрын
Hossam Kandil It's not head voice. You who has been raised on modern R&B might believe it to be so. The fact is that there is *no range* of HERS that would extend above these "head voice" notes in the video unless she extended to her whistle register. My point is that if she was asked to go up and up...she would never 'transition' into falsetto...BECAUSE SHE'S ALREADY IN FALSETTO. You may note the strain of her even high 4th Octave notes...and then the *sudden relief* (at least from a listening perspective.) of the notes in the high 5th/low 6th Octave. Actual Head voice is merely an extension of your full voice...and while it *should* be comfortable...it is not inherently more comfortable than Chest voice. It should also *not* differ in tone or colour much from our Chest voice...where as there's a dramatic shift in sound (to a very flutey sound.) when she reaches that pitch. In fact many of the "chest" notes in this video are already transitioning into falsetto, you can hear multiple vocal cracks during these performances...these are characteristic of a transition from full voice to falsetto...not from chest voice to head. Just because she's a female, does not mean her 'registers' are magically different. She sounds like your average male "countertenor" when in "head voice"...and countertenors (at least in popular music.) sing exclusively in falsetto. Her full voice vocal range given only the material in the video would be about Eb3 to D5...or E5 (None of her 5th Octave notes sound comfortable and I'm not convinced of her notes above D5...let alone that obvious falsetto F5 in the video.) Another thing I'm not convinced of is the pitching work in this video in particular. I think the reason you're confused is because she didn't *scream* the A5 falsetto note, where as you're probably attributing falsetto to the famous falsetto screams (although that E6 is obviously screamed.) I'm not sure why you'd expect to her to reach up there in the first place however, she's actually got a rather thick and deep voice especially for a woman, comparable even to a lower male tenor. There are many untrained women who are naturally soprano's who still couldn't reach E5 in head voice, being female does not mean you can inherently reach (especially if you're not trained to.) above the highest male notes.

when i was younger. my mom went through a depression because my dad was physically and verbally abusive and all she listened to was the fallen album.which meant that i also listened to it all the time (i was about 3-5) my mom was also an alcoholic. that mixed with my dad you could probably imagine i had a rough childhood. when i got older i started getting depressed, cutting, suicidal and anxiety problems. i was hospitalized several times for it. but one of things that always kept me going was music. especially evanescence.their music saved my life. legitimately. i remember having a bottle of sleeping pills in my hand when hello came on and i put them down and called 911. they truly are an amazing band.

Amy Lee goes very hard in her shows. Her vocal cords are pushed to the max. I sing in a few bands locally and there is no way in hell I would ever be able to pull off anything like Amy Lee does. I think having range and power is the ultimate weapon when it comes to singing. Its hard! If you push your vocal cords to the max like that, its going to strain. She surpasses a lot of singers even in her live performances because of how much power she can put into her songs for a long period of time. And yes, running around definitely has an impact. I really admire Amy Lee, always have. She has amazing control over her voice as well as putting the power into it. If only I was born with that voice!

Just think if she had just a little training. My Lord it would be even more amazing than it is now. And she's dare good now. She can go from that soft heart breaking voice that makes you cry to blowing you out of the chair 1 second later. She does have a rare gift few have. Just a little training and it would be something.

When I saw her live, she was immaculate with both her breathing techniques as well as her vocal range. Note for note as far as I can remember. Perhaps the times you have seen her were not her best, but all vocalists have their moments. There is no doubt she has incredible talent. - just a thought.

@DanielAlexis17 Crescendo means "gradual increase in loudness", that D5 at 5:56 is crescendo because she started the D5 softly then while she was sustaining it, she gradually added more power to it, making it gradually louder until the end the of note.
