I like my butter cold in my cookies not room temp or melted. Where I live it raises and is a thick even cookie and chewy. The best! Your cookies looked awesome Amy!

In a pinch, I soften butter by putting a glass measuring cup that I've run hot water in over the butter. I also use Alex's tip to bringing eggs to room temp.

Hi Amy! Just found your vlog. You're looking great! I had the same squeak with my Kitchenaide. It's the flat beater you have. I had one of those flat beaters with the rubber on the sides and it squeaks when it rubs against the bowl. I switched back to the standard flat beater and no more squeak. Keep up the great cooking vlogs!!!!

You can put your metal mixer bowl in a shallow pan of warm water to soften the butter. Stir it to get it ready to put back under the mixer.

Hi Amy, I'm a huge fan. I have a kitchen aid and I do a ton of baking and it doesn't squeek when I use the original attachments. But it squeeks like crazy when I use the paddle attachment with the bowl scraper.

You keep saying your butter wasn’t soft but when you creamed it in the mixer it looked totally creamed & soft. Remember your peanut butter comment. Maybe the ingredients weren’t quite right, too much flour or do you think the pretzels absorbed too much moisture? Whatever the case, the blondies turned out great!
