Mary Louise Parker was so great in this role. I loved her dry timing, and great facial expressions! "NAT?... Okay"

And as the President points out in the end of the episode, it's toothless legislation. There's no way to determine whether a doctor actually has a particular conversation with a patient. It's just a "feel good" amendment that a Congressperson gets to show of to their constituents. (Sort of like N.C.'s Bathroom Bill which has no penalty clause. It just exists so a legislator can walk into his church on Sunday and say, "I tried.")

Yeah "mic2005", but you're leaving out the best part. A few seconds after Bill Bailey and the "flamingo" (the secret service codeword for Miss Cregg) leave Amy's office, Amy closes the doors for some privacy and when she's walking away they fall down and crash onto the floor.

@@srkh8966 Donna was not perfect for Josh. The last season bungled those two and it made for boring television. Josh and Donna should have just stayed friends. They were like CJ and Toby. For years Donna was like a nursemaid running around cleaning up after Josh.

Am I the only one who finds her method of speaking so annoying? Can't exactly put my finger on it but just the delivery is halting and annoying. Also, I once read a great comment on reddit that said "don't make your office personal-have nothing of yours really in it so you could go out for lunch and never come back". Putting up the degrees and whatever else she is hanging is silly. And pretentious.
@henrybutchy32422 жыл бұрын
Nope. I, and my 3 partners, littered our office walls with diplomas, bar admissions, antique maps, and such (one bust of Darth Vader, one of Beethoven). Why would I not come back? I'm the frigging boss. Please recognize your lackey mindset (and be thankful it ain't universal).

My question here is - the voters elect the President, the voters elect congress - Who the hell elected Doctor Abby ??
@mikaku3 жыл бұрын
You kidding? The voters did. When you vote for a president, you know whom is he/she married with. You vote as well for the first lady (or first gentleman). And usually they are somewhat involved in the campaing, so you got a feeling about her/his general intention.

@@mikaku are you kidding? No, the public did not vote for Laura Bush, Nancy Reagan, Melania, Jackie, Hillary, Pat Nixon or whoever to control legislation.

@@prism8289 They voted for their husbands primarily but you also take into account who the first lady will be just like you also take into account who the Vice President is going to be.

@@prism8289 They don't have any direct power to control legislation though. You vote for congressmembers, presidents, etc. to do that. Part of that is voting for their judgement on who to listen to and when. Being lobbied by any number of people is part of that. It's part of life that family members are going to have their own interests and ideas, no politician ever is without people close to them who are unelected and have influence. Exercising their judgement on those things is part of the job.
