You’re entitled to your opinion and they theirs. Tell the truth and shame the devil. What you should and could or would do is almost always different than what you WILL do when you are tested. If you say you wouldn’t do something you better hope the devil doesn’t see that as a challenge to test you! Because what we do at the weakest, most vulnerable out of mind self is a reflection of who we are at our core. Perhaps that was Will taking a risk to protect his wife, a show of love and willingness to sacrifice his career. But who are you and others at your weakest moment? You won’t know until the devil tests you, but some people fail the test and still act holier than thou. I have been tested and chose mercy because that’s what God offers me, since none of you hypocrites are God you need to show mercy and stop judging before you’re in that receiving end.

Yes, obviously laws against assault should apply to anyone no matter how rich or famous. Yes. Yes. So, in the entertainment industry, that's always going to be a problem.

That moment will be engrained in Oscar history forever. Will can't take back what he did. Will Smith chose violence on impulse over laughing through the joke. He was in fact laughing until he saw Jada wasn't then he acted out. He ruined the biggest night of his life in an instant over a very tame joke. Big ups to Chris, he did an amazing job at keeping his cool and I'm surprised Will was not escorted out, because if it was anyone else slapping Chris rock they would've. The fact that Amy had to explain that Kirsten and her husband were in on that skit is beyond ridiculous. Majority of our society has become so sensitive, nosy and eager to make changes - even when no change needs to be made. Comedy is comedy. Learn to take a JOKE! just as long as comedians don't keep getting slapped!
@meangreen60442 жыл бұрын
Well why should comedians be the only profession allowed to bully or make someone the but of a joke? Why are they not held to be accountable for their words having an impact but other are? Why do people get to offend others and say it’s a joke? You could literally harass and demean someone and say it was a joke and say stop being sensitive. It’s really becoming a get out of jail free card to get to demean someone and say it’s only a joke. Not everyone wants to be the butt of a joke so others can have a chuckle. It’s all fun and games until the one saying others are sensitive becomes the joke. But only the joker knows how to hit the right button and below the belt to know how to take down someone without repercussions and backlash
@kellyfaulkner17622 жыл бұрын
@@meangreen6044 I understand! A lot of comedy shows I’ve gone to…the front row gets made fun of by the comedians…it’s kind of a given. This isn’t a new concept - it’s been happening for decades. Comedians tell jokes, and sometimes people get offended. It goes with the territory. Jokes are not facts though. They are jokes. Our society has become extremely sensitive. It’s okay to make fun of ourselves and not take everything so literally all the time…and just laugh.
@meangreen60442 жыл бұрын
@@kellyfaulkner1762 what part does a joke become bullying? Jada has been the target of Chris jokes for years, he makes a joke about her every time he can, that is bullying. He made a forgettable joke that made people laugh a sec or two but to the person who is the target it’s a constant poking. In the real world if Chris had been targeting you for jokes to get other to laugh, and you said hey stop and he kept you would be mad, you would take it to hr if it was a work and file a harassment suit. Outside of work if it happened you would probably get your males in your life involved or whatever. The whole excuse of people are too sensitive is just an excuse to justify allowing people to say whatever they want without consequences of their words. People hide behind the word “joke” to hide their jealousy,sexism, racism, jealousy, or insecurities when you call them out they say it’s just a joke. But how many times can a male “joke” about big breasted women, because one big breasted one turned him down in high school, or how many times can a woman “joke” about men being trash because she can’t find any good guy for her? You do realize in some situations when people start telling a joke or lie so many times they start to believe it and take it out on people? Jada and will boycotted the Oscar’s in 2016, Chris hosted, since then he made fun of Jada. People who are bullied get tired and their actions are unpredictable, some get violent by fighting or shooting or using their cars or verbal assault some may get others involved. It is what it is. People have their opinions you don’t have to change yours because I’m not changing mine. I’m just saying I’m showing mercy because God has shown me mercy, I’m not going to get on a high horse a act like I’m perfect like some of the fake people in the comments

I felt it necessary to remind us all that no matter what our opinion is, there is a learning lesson here for us all. Listen to what Wanda Sykes, one of the hosts who put in months of preparation said: 'It was sickening. I physically felt ill. I’m still a little traumatized by it. And for them to let him stay in that room and enjoy the rest of the show and accept his award, I was like, ‘How gross is this? This is just the wrong message.’ You assault somebody, you get escorted out of the building and that’s it. For them to let him continue, I thought it was gross.” “I hope he doesn’t mind me saying this but I saw Chris at Guy’s party and as soon as I walked up to him, the first thing he said was, ‘I’m so sorry.’ I said, ‘Why are you apologizing?’ And he said, ‘It was supposed to be your night, you and Amy and Regina, y’all were doing such a great job. I’m so sorry this is now going to be about this,'” Sykes recalled. “That’s who Chris is.” - 'People will always remember you for your character first' -

Yeah no protection for performers and not consequences for attacking them. Dude wasn't even escorted out not one person asked Chris if he was ok. Like him or not he handled it like a pro.

the most fascinating part of everything was all the celebs sitting there are always told how to feel about things. But in this instance, they didn't know what side to pick up for and were too afraid to say anything out of fear of being canceled. Biggest example of groupthink I have ever seen. 1 big clown show

To be fair, they thought it was an act. It slowly sunk in this may be real. Chris seemed to have recovered quite well. So perhaps they assumed he wasnt hit hard. I still believe Smith should have been escorted out whether he hit Rock hard or not. Should be zero tolerance policy

@@needahandle fair enough. at the time yea i get it. but even now people like denzel and the rest of them haven't really stood up and said anything. but they are real quick to tell us their political opinions and to take needles.

Well everyone has an opinion be it said out loud or in their mind. Those people talking would be singing a different tune if they were the butt of a joke by CR or any other comedian. They may have did something differently but you can’t know what a person will do when they are in a moment of anger. People have pulled out guns, run people over with cars, and k!lled In anger. We can be at our weakest in anger, I won’t judge because by saying I wouldn’t do this or that is like a challenge to the devil, he will take what you say you won’t do and test you when you’re at your lowest, most vulnerable or impaired state in mind.

Is will smith going to be allowed to do this without consequences what does it say to the kids watching it's ok to hit someone And the smug look on his face as he walks away That's just WRONG

Darren Teasdale Do you realise that millions of children regularly get slapped, or much worse, by their parents or others adults though? It's very confusing when they do it to them for hitting other children too. 😥
