At the time Amy was at her height, I ignored her and her music (too wrapped up in my own favourites). Now, years later, I realise how good a singer she was. Died much too young. R.I.P.

I remember hearing her voice for the first time on an airplane music list. I had my headphones in, and instantly Valerie came on, and I said "Who is this!?" and the song ended the man's voice said "That was, Amy Winehouse with Valerie" and I was in love with her voice. What made Amy so special was, you ask yourself, who sang like that in this generation? She was a modern woman, who pulled the soul sound from another era and reinvented it. Thank you Grimmlife. She is definitely an icon that will live on forever. Because of her , the people have Adele today. Her documentary is amazing as well as heartbreaking because you literally get to watch her go from a beautiful healthy young woman, to a frail thin frightened shell of what she once was. Its really sad how people would go on with their business around her like nothing is wrong. This video is really great. Another masterpiece from Grimm Life. What blew my mind was the headstone. For some reason I always thought it was quite large, yet seeing Jessica next to it, I was shocked to see that it is of normal size. Again amazing job. Thank you guys. She lived in that lovely little mews house, on a cobbled street, in the early 2000's, while B2B was selling millions around the world. Also well worth visiting, are her beloved favourite pubs in Camden, The Hawley Arms, The Dublin Castle, and The Good Mixer. They all have lovely tributes to her, inc signed pics x

Amy was unique, and one of the first in her generation to collaborate her vocal talents with several other musicians of different eras and genres including Tony Bennett, Mick Jagger, Prince, Paul Weller, Mark Ronson, Nas, and others. Amy’s duets made her popular with audiences who weren’t familiar with her music, and so it almost became a trend among other artists just looking to cash in on the fad!! A great video by the way… though it’s a bummer about the “Fallen Angel”… a sad metaphor perhaps?? He worked with Amy. He told me that she sadly was so off her face during rehearsals . That her crew sort of learned a form of sign/ body language from her in order to action. They learned to understand a nod to the left meant this, a nod to right meant that. Coupled with arm gestures etc. you get what I’m saying. But this poor strung out poor young lady would on Que turn into Amy doing her thing live on stage and knock it out of the ballpark .That’s kind of impressive and sadly unimpressive to me. Amy Winehouse was an extremly talented woman however she was also vulnerable. She did get into some bad company who led her astray. However nothing can take away her talent . Her voice was unique and very special. I Watched a documentry on BBC1 filmed at a church which I believe was in Ireland. Here voice was immaculate and fascinating to hear, singing to what was probably no more than a few hundred people. I wish more could have been to protect her and she might still be round today if it had happened. May you rest in peace dear Amy. Michael and Jessica thank you for putting on a very special video. (Perhaps in her next life, she will be named Temperance...) 11:57 The overgrowth of vines and foliage deepens the funerary mood 13:04 Michael's unerring eye, insures that we are able to see the before and after of the 'heart' gravesite. It's exactly what we want to see, and the Grimms take us there, yet again. 🤲🏻🤲🏻 14:53 Before 15:00 After
