I love the idea of doing curtains! I personally hang my rods so they are wider than the windows. That way, when the curtains hang down, they don’t block any of the window or light. I swear, it also makes the windows look so much larger! Love this video, your home is beautiful!

Hi Amy 🙋🏼♀️I love the idea of drop cloth curtains in the dining room .so you keep all the light flooding in from the window have the curtain pole to over hang the window on the side so when you open the curtains they are on the outer edge of the window that way you still have the light but also the curtains . I love to watch all your videos so inspiring.🥰

My personal opinion, no to curtains or valances. I love the large window and beautiful natural lighting. Yes, to the "karate chop!," it gives the pillows character. Now for Valentine's Day, my husband is taking the day off so he can take me out to eat and go pick up my children's portrait that his mom took. I've been patiently waiting for it to get framed for over a month. I cannot wait to see it wrapped in barn wood. I hope you have a blessed day, Amy. Your home is beautiful, you did an amazing job! Thank you so much for sharing❤

I have enjoyed your channel ever sense i ran across it. I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas decorating and tours. If you want to karate chop your pillows in your house, do it because people are kinda split on it, so it's your home! Your pillows are so pretty, I love how the gray one with the white geometric you said felt floral goes with the black rug. Everything is so pretty in your house! I am making mine more farmhouse everyday, except I can't go neutral or white, My rooms are kitchen-yellow, dining room-deep red, fireplace room- parakeet green, TV room- warm gold, with white trim. I decided to take down my winter mantle tonight and add a vintage bulb drying tray with a tulip wreath similar to your window with the tulip and lavender wreath. I really love your ideas, I will subscribe tonight.

We're going to stay home for Valentine's this year. We're going to avoid the crowded restaurants and enjoy a nice meal here with our two kiddos! I would put light beige sheer valances on both ends of the window that almost touch the floor and leave it open for the light. Your decorating skills are amazing plus you have a beautiful home. Have a wonderful weekend. ♥️

I love it Amy! Everything is so fresh looking it looks like you went out to the garden and plucked a few pieces to bring indoors and it doesn't scream Spring has sprung. No Valentines plans. Karate chop depends on the pillow I think sometimes it needs one. I like the window as is-if privacy is not an issue I like bare windows ( I have super close neighbors on all sides of me).

Amy, in the dining room you should do curtains BUT get a huge road and have them slightly touch the windows edge - especially where you have no wall hangings beside the window!!! Best of both worlds - curtains and bright windows!!! PS love what you’ve done with it all!!

You did an awesome job redoing your dining room I love the way you did the hutch all the whites and greens. I know I was sick and tired of looking at all the red between Christmas and valentines all of it out of my house now.

I have large french doors in my dining room that I didn't want to cover. I made drop cloth curtains.. and just have them on the outside of the doors; so it actually makes the doors appear larger, and doesn't cover them. It completes the room! :)

If it were my dining room...I put up white sheer curtains and the wooden pull shades that roll up. It would still allow a lot of light through during the day with the pull shades rolled up and the shades would pull out the warmth from the wooden ladder. Love your decor. Yes to the drop cloth curtains. You could hang them higher and wider than your actual windows and leave them open so they don’t actually block any natural light. And I have to say I do not understand the karate shop to the pillows that everyone does. I don’t do that to my pillows. 😄
@sunshinevibes43575 жыл бұрын
Two suggestions: yes on curtains for the window. If yours are like mine, I always just keep the curtains pulled to either side so no light is blocked. Also, how about tiny, single short flower stems in some or all of the little milk bottles on hutch to give a bit of color to balance with the colors on the cookbooks and anthropologie cups?
@andrewcollins74325 жыл бұрын
Definitely do the drop cloth curtains, you need to take the rod all the way to the crown and flank the windows as not to cover the window/light.

Hi Amy I am new to your channel. Your dinning room is lovely! I have 2 suggestions for your window, one would be just shear curtains hung from iron pipe with clips. We did that in our living room and it looks beautiful. I did not want to block any light either. A second idea if you mainly want something flanking the windows might be two barn doors that you could close if you wanted and they would meet in the middle of the windows. It would give you texture on that window wall as well! Im sure whatever you do will be beautiful!!
