That was amazing and gave me motivation. In your case, though it sounds childish perhaps after a math exam you could have a basket of candy to take from when they finish?

I also liked it when teachers genuinely waited to see if everyone understood, and if they didn’t, offer help, either right in class, or after school.

@@Pope_of_the_Church_of_Tea going step by step with a few example questions worked the best for me. don't do the thing where you have everyone be silent - it distracted and disturbed me whenever we were told we couldn't talk to each other. don't make your students feel bad about their abilities. I had a maths teacher who called us all useless and that "you are all going to fail your gcses" and I'm still not over it. very cool of you to look into it though. I wish you well
