Her voice contains so much pain, desire and hope... it tears my heart apart because it awakes my own pain, desires and hope - and in the same moment it's comforting me, giving me relief, a time of surrender for the duration of that song, like a glimpse of a life without harm and pain. She must be an angel or have the soul of a good goddess.

One of the reasons I love Amy so much is because she is a full artist. She has such a beautiful voice, writes amazing lyrics, proved that she can do amazing things without sticking to just one music genre, doesn't exactly play the easiest instruments and hell the woman even paints and designs her stage and music video clothes. And with this song in particular she proved what she can do without being chained to a record label.

This song touches my soul. I understand that this was written for a movie where the mother passes but, the wonderful thing about music is that songs can change meaning when listened to it by different people. For me this hits a chord as I have a child who has Autism and has been non verbal. I have worked with therapists and put some much time, love, tears, hope into helping him find himself. This song feels for me like it could be written about a battle such as one I'm going through. I cried when I heard this it's beautiful and gives me an outlet to listen to in times when I feel we are on an uphill battle with no ending in sight. Thanks Amy for writing something just so overwhelmingly perfect.

Amy Lee said in her BUILD series interview: "Eric Howell the director thought of me on his own. Which is so cool when that happens. And tracked me down and talked to me about maybe writing the song for his film."Here are my thoughts on this:First thing is first, Eric Howell made such an incredible choice to ask Amy to write the song for his film. I believe he knew exactly what he was doing when he thought of Amy and tracked her down to write the song for his film. She has the ability to write and sing songs that are mesmerizing, haunting, beautiful, angelic, and breathtaking. He knows what real talent is, and he knows Amy has it. Most know her as the vocalist of Evanescence, but she's so much more than that. She has the ability to do what she chooses to do with or without Evanescence. This song "Speak To Me" reaches beyond that. It proves it. I love the band Evanescence, and love Amy for what she represents and does inside or outside of Evanescence. This song is absolutely BREATHTAKING. Her voice, her mood, her tone, her haunting yet beautiful vocals prove she truly is one of the most talented people in the music industry today, just as she was back in the early 2000's. Secondly, Amy has the ability to create a masterpiece. The way she sings this song, the way she sings the lyrics, the dresses she wears in this video, the style she created, the haunting background melodies she did when she sang "I feel you rushing all through me, in these walls I still hear your heartbeat" were incredible. Who else can actually do such haunting/beautiful melodies just like Amy? The range she has when she sings "We are, one breath apart, and I'll be holding it in, till we're together" and "Hear me, call your name, and just speak" are beautifully done. (Well anything she sings is always beautifully done) This song she wrote speaks volumes on the true meaning behind the film "Voice From The Stone" and that alone is a talent. It gets you emotional, her voice gets you emotional, and so does the video. Thirdly, am I the only one who gets chills at the last part when she sings "Hear me, call your name, just believe, and speak" because of the way she sings it, the way she plays the piano, and the way it sounds all together, gives me chills every time. I believe in my opinion, that when she does that, it's just so incredibly powerful.This song and video and Amy all deserve awards. This is one of the most incredible, haunting, beautiful, emotional, and amazing things to ever see and hear. The way it impacts you right when you see her in the water, in black and white, singing "Be still, my love, I will, return to you" is such an incredible start to one of the most beautiful songs and videos ever to be made. Sorry for the long post! I just had to get my thoughts out, and some might agree, some might disagree. I just know that Amy did an amazing job and she deserves to be credited for it. She has talent, she writes and sings with just enough emotion to captivate you. I'll always be a fan of her, and Evanescence. No matter what the future brings. (I'm talking about five years from now) I'll always support what she does! Amy, you're amazing. Thank you for this song, your voice, and this video. (And thank you to those who helped create and shoot the video too)

Angel of Darkness 040 you are right about that but Tarja is more opera I love night wish and I wouldn't compare amy to arch enemy cause of she is not death metal but I love arch enemy ever since they had there very first vocalist before Angela but I can't argue with u that's a great list u have there...👍
@jackblaze86847 жыл бұрын
Angel of Darkness 040 i would disagree i have heard within temptation and evanescence for both 8 years I'm 17 i would prefer Amy Lee better than Sharon and I hate opera for me and whom all i said about tarja they hated tarja i cant say about alissa and floor bcoz i haven't heard them
@jackblaze86847 жыл бұрын
i have said u that i don't know about others but tarja sucks no one likes opera till now in my reach whoever i said about tarja they said she sucks and Sharon is good cant deny but she has live mistakes and her sound is gives way faster in this way i can say Amy is better than these two .......but however everyone has their own opinion ..tc

This is what motherhood does to you. This is the real transformation and it is beautiful. Through all the years of her music, I've never heard anything as beautiful as My Immortal until this came out. EDIT: This was the first song I ever sang to my boyfriend. Even though we are not together now due to religion being against us having a physical relationship, he's still in my heart. We will be together in our thoughts, memories, and for eternity in the afterlife!

I opened youtube and this song was the first thing that turned up. Ive loved this song before but hadn't heard it in years. I can't help but feel this was my mother finding a way to let me know she is here even though i can't see her. Thank you for this beautiful song Amy, your voice and you are stunning and so moving as always.
