My dear Mother in Law, who's in a nursing home now, lived with us for several years before strokes and some dementia left her unable to walk. Such a hard worker all her life who grew up with nothing. She cooked here a lot. She'd make a big pot of chicken n dumplings and a big pan of cornbread. I'd say Maw, you like bread with bread don't you? She'd say I shore do! And pile that cornbread in them dumplings!❤ A fine lady. I miss her being here. A strong woman in her faith her entire adult life. She'll be 83 in a few days. My wife is a only child who's struggling tremendously with this. Send us a prayer if you think about it. God bless y'all!

Hi Amy, I just wanted to share with you another short cut I use for chicken and dumplings. Mary B's frozen dumplings they are cut and ready to go. You just break them the size you want them. I mix and equal amount of softened butter and flour to thicken the dumplings. Also in the chicken broth I add a Table spoon of Knorr chicken flavoring but watch your salt afterword. Knorr is very salty even the lower sodium one. Thank you so much for all you share with us. I live just 30 miles north of Houston so I feel like we are neighbors!

I am 86and I have tried many times to make dumplings and they have ever turned out good. They are always tuff and are just never good. But I have never tried to make them from pie crust. I told myself yesterday I will never try again. God bless, ❤

☀️ Hello Sunshine on a rainy day! 😂 Gotta say those are dumplings made differently from any other I’ve seen. The pie crust is something I’ve never even thought of. Until I started watching some southern cooking channels I had never seen or heard of besting cornbread with dumplings. But I do love corn bread. Yummy!! You Just keep that creative brain coming up with these amazing ideas and I will keep watching and drooling. One more thing you do differently is cutting your dumplings into the long strips. My favorite though is the fluffy dumplings with no chicken added to the dumplings. Your Momma V is a nut! 🌰 🥜 😂 it’s after 3 pm and I haven’t had a bite all day so this video has really gotten me hungry. Which can will I open tonight? 😊 Im sorry about Aunt Diane.
