You definitely DON'T suck, and if anyone tells you that they are having a bad day and lashing out at you. I like hearing you talk through the whole process in these videos. I especially like when you get a little bit rambly because you always have something positive to say. You more than any other person I follow on social media inspire me to find the joy, happiness, and beauty in my everyday life. Please keep doing what you're doing. We love you!

I think the pace of this video is perfect. And I like it without music, it is calming to watch and listen to your thoughts and process. And about the "strategies about getting out of a funk" I find doing lots of little things, like your example of using the date stamps that remind you of the library as a child can help lift your spirits when needed. Like watching old tv shows that make you happy. Or definitely some music that brings back happy memories. x

I find so much inspiration from your bullet journal videos. You always remind me that it's okay to mess up and perfection isn't always necessary. I appreciate how "real" you are in this video and I can relate to how you are feeling right now! As I was listening I was thinking about commenting to tell you to reread your own book :) It has helped me through a slump so I am sure it can help you again too. Thank you again, for the inspiration, words of wisdom, and for sharing your life with the world ❤️

I'll so glad you demonstrated the day of the week stamps here that are in your shop! I am planning on buying them, I just wanted to see them on a page first, and this was perfect! It was also fun to see you use the stickers from the Pipsticks package, especially since I did an unboxing video of them. Also, I've been doing daily spreads this summer since I have more time to spend on it. However, when classes start back in the fall I'll be moving back to weekly spreads like yours. Seeing the way you make your spreads makes me excited to move back to that system in a month or so!

Don't let the fact that you're not carrying over certain things from this bujo to the next get you down, Amy! One of the wonderful things about a bujo is its flexibility. Some days you need more than one page per day for all your tasks? Go for it. Sometimes you need only one page for an entire week? No worries. You get to make up what you need as you need it and don't give yourself a hard time if it changes. Don't let other people harsh you on it, either. A bujo is to made to match your headspace, not someone else's, right? It's the one place you can give yourself the freedom to experiment and make mistakes. I've made a ton with mine since New Year's Day but I won't let it slow me down or discourage me. At the end of it, I'll have a funny story in the form of all the discarded graphs, pictures, and lettering styles. I look at it as a time capsule for a project that is still ongoing. I think it's very easy to lock into a particular format and try to stick with it even if it doesn't suit the current day or the week, especially if you lay out the week or the month in advance. At that point, you lose the flexibility of the bujo and get trapped into following a format until your life matches what has already been drawn or written. When you have that situation, you might as well be using a preprinted planner and where's the fun in that? So leave yourself room to change things up. Don't fill out everything in advance. But how do you plan for the future and list upcoming appointments if you aren't writing them down on the proper day page in advance? I ran into this problem early on and it made me realize that THAT question is answered by having the future logs and the month layouts at the front of the bujo. For all the things you need to write down in advance, they all go at the front sections. It's the pages and pages of blank pages that happen afterward that you give yourself permission to do things any which way you want or need. And if you need to have a duplicate month layout later on in the bujo, why not? There's no rule that says you can't have one closer to the days you're actually journaling about. As long as you have your future events and appointments written down where you can find them efficiently FOR YOU, duplicates aren't anything to worry about. In the end, it's nothing but paper and ink. Paper and ink aren't so dear that every page must be hoarded like gold or that every drop of ink is as precious as blood. I guess in the past 6 months since I've started my bujo (my first), I've tried and discarded two-three different daily/monthly formats. I think I've settled into one for now but I'm not going to lock myself into it. I want to keep my options open! I think the only thing I'm going to keep consistent is my weekly review page, where I draw little doodles of the high points of my week: a lunch out (food pictures!), calls from special friends, a special meal at home, packages in the mail, funny things my pets did ... that sort of thing. Maybe I'll try brush lettering with Tombo markers. Or maybe I'll end up using colored pencils to color in my blocks instead of wearing my Pigma Microns down to the metal! (I've done it already, twice!) I'm not going to worry about it. I'll change up when I feel like it. I think you're incredibly brave to show everything to your fans, Amy. I don't think I'm that brave! We are our own harshest critics, aren't we? Trust me, with my control-freak tendencies and my perfectionist desires, trusting to chance or circumstance and doing all the above is a GREAT departure for me. But it's also exciting and fun--every day is a new adventure. LOL!! Have fun with yours!

Yes yes yes on so many levels! Thanks so much for your tips and wise words. Do you have an example of a set up that you love? I really like your idea of putting all of it in the front with the future log, I guess I just need to see a few and then go with that plan. Thanks!!

But to tackle the request without pictures ... I'm primarily a visual thinker. I grasp some abstract things better if they can be drawn. Time is REALLY abstract for me. Thinking of time like a pie chart or a bar that grows or shrinks gives it a shape I can hold in my head and manage better. For instance, a tiny sliver of pie tells me better than numbers how much or how little time I've got to work with. When scheduling things--or looking for openings in my schedule--it's easier to spot the solid colored blocks on my page, or see the holes of unclaimed time, than it is to remember all the numbers we assign to the hours of the clock. The run of numbers between 1 and 3 o'clock doesn't *feel* like anything in my head, but a bar about yea-long feels very real to me and allows me to break it into tiny bits better. I guess my head is just wired differently. One thing that does stick with me, however, is military notation for time. Yes, it uses numbers instead of pictures, but I rather need the unequivocal quality of it. To explain: 7 am is 0700 hrs. 7 pm is 1900 hrs. There is NO MISTAKING between the two. There is no ambiguity to it. There are certain times of year at my latitude where looking out the window makes the two times on the clock look exactly the same. I can't tell you how often when working my way through college, I woke from a post-classes pre-work nap in a panic, because I couldn't tell by the clock or by daylight if I'd slept right through my job shift to the next morning. Yikes! So military time is used in my planner. It tells me at a glance without having to muck about with am or pm or even remembering if it should be in all caps or all caps separated by periods or ... ? Also, the higher the number, the farther along in your day you've gone and the less you've got left. At the moment, my weekly pages are divided into vertical columns across a two-page spread. The left-hand page has room for four columns, Sunday through Wednesday, and the right-hand page for Thursday through Saturday with an extra column for notes. I have the hours from 00 (midnight) to 23 (11pm) running from top to bottom. I have a graph paper style journal, so each hour takes up two lines, making it easy to divide each hour into half-hour segments. A good chunk of the top is not used because I'm usually sleeping but that just means I can track how much sleep I am getting (as opposed to the amount of sleep I *should* be getting, LOL) The rest of the column gets filled out as needed. If I have appointments, they get written on the correct line based on the time. If there are empty spaces, I can use them to write down less structured tasks for the day, like Top Three Priority Tasks or Top Five. Or a nice little quote or whatever, really. As long as I can read the scheduled items and find them quickly, everything else is up for grabs. I tend to keep things neat, though. Following the two-page vertical spread for the week, I have a one-page spread (the backside of the right-hand column page) blocked off as two columns with four blocks each, left and right. This is where I plan my meals for the week and keep a running list of items I will need to buy at the store. Sunday through Wednesday follow down the left-hand side, and Thursday to Saturday go down the right, with the last block left blank for notes or what-not. There is a gap between the two columns for my running grocery list. I can even put the items next to the day with the meals they're needed for. So at the top of the column are the two-three things I need for Sunday, halfway down is Tuesday, and further still is Friday. If it's Sunday at the top, I know I have a little more time before I have to go buy the items listed farther down. The gap in space tells me there's time and it breaks down the task into smaller more manageable bites. Which works out well, as grocery sales where we live change over on the Wednesday. The price on the hamburger I've got scheduled to cook on Friday might go on sale on Wednesday so I shouldn't automatically put it up there in the list with Sunday. If I did, I would end up buying it on Sunday, which might not actually be a good idea if I'm not going to need it til Friday. I save time by making my individual grocery runs shorter by the items bought, money from buying at sale instead of regular prices, and it will be fresher if I bought it closer to Friday ... See? This one-page spread is also where I write down important appointments and events. It repeats some of the work on the preceding two-page spread but the goal is to reinforce my memory through repetition. If you write one thing down only once, you might forget it. If you write it down 2 or 3 or 5 times, it'll stick with you. The last page is another single page, this time covered in doodles. I try to draw out one thing per day that week that reflects something I found interesting or funny or worthy of remembering. It might be a picture of a muffin I had at a favorite coffee shop. It might be an info graphic of something or other. It might be a quote or something my cat brought me. The goal is to draw something, big or small, every day and to use it as a memory aid. After all, there's more to journaling than keeping your head in where you're supposed to go and what you're supposed to do. It's also something to let you look back at where you've been and what you've done. Why not make it fun to look at, as well as informative? So ... Drawings! That's pretty much it for my current method. Just 4 pages per week, plus a two page calendar spread for the month. I didn't make two page calendar spreads for the entire year at front of my journal when I started out. I really hadn't a clue as to what I was doing at the time. I might do that for August through December after I get July out of the way. OR I might continue as I have til New Year. The nice thing about my bullet journal is I can do whatever I want. It doesn't have to be the same, cover to cover, and that's part of the fun.

I'll always be a fangerine, have been since your first collection. Wish you'd do some more daybooks; I've bought the same ones several times, each. I'm sad to lose so many scrapbook stores, too. I used to get loads of inspiration from visiting Archiver's, and I always bought more, there, than when I shop online. The product photos on web sites are too small and washed out to see all the details, so I have to gamble on whether it's what I'm looking for.

I'm having a hard time locating cute monthly stamps. Soooo... I didn't check yet , but if you don't already have them, names of months stamps and dates not just numbers but instead of having to do two 1's an actual 11 , that would be awesome. Love watching your process.

I like all your crafty and trip videos...I enjoy your travel notebook process videos and your new love with bullet journaling... I am just using a mini HaPpY Planner and am wanting to change to a different style...I just purchased a Webster Pages calendar (Traveler notebook style layout)that I will start on July 1st to try out. A lot of people are buying the Hobonichi weeks which is a pricey planner (is a nice one) that I may later try.?? How is your Illistrated Faith bag and inks working out? TFS all you do, I've learned a lot thru these videos. 👍💕

Yours are my favorite BuJo videos, even though it's really not for me, 💜🌺. I appreciate hearing your process and prefer that to music. I often find elements to add to my own binder planner system. I would love to hear about your view of intentional living. I enjoyed John Maxwell's book on the subject and would like to hear your point of view. It's taken years, but I don't have many long term funks. Every day, I list 3 gratitudes, listen to positive audios, read good books, and try to uplift someone. When the going gets tough, I tell myself this too, shall pass. It's a lot of effort, but if you read The Whole Brain Child, you can see that it may be possible to hard wire your brain to be positive thru good habits and positive interaction. And your child's brain, for that matter. Possible, anyway.
@amytangerine

Oh yes, love all of this. I had to wire my brain during my teenage years as I think I was super cynical and could get easily sucked into negativity. I surround myself with positive, uplifting people now though sometimes it's still hard for me to let go of things. It's something I am working on, and I know that it's important to let go of the people (and things) that are are no longer serving us in a positive way. Love incorporating good, healthy and happy habits. Thanks so much for your comments!

I miss library check out cards. And card catalogs. I love the check out cards because the signatures/writing is always at odds with the neat and orderly lines, columns, and rows. I love the card catalogs because you can open a drawer at random and start leafing through the titles and discover treasure that way. I don't feel old. I feel nostalgic and miss these things like old friends.

I like your videos as is, I really don't like music only although I know that's probably easier from time to time. If it's between a video with music or no video at all, then of course I'd rather have a music video. Jola Mochoge Have you tried Amazon? You can find all sorts of wonderful journals in plenty of stores, but if you want the official Bullet Journal dot com journal, then the Lechtrum 1917 is the best way to go and with Amazon. But just remember that there lots of other options and those are usually the best for wetting your feet. I have the Miuko 6x8.5 dot grid journal and I love it!

Maybe one day you'll come to Rwanda... Is there any chance you would come to Belgium one day (Europe)?... I love the all video, I like when you talk, because if you pout some music, it will be boring. Maybe you should try to do some video with Jack in front of you drawing, I think many people would like it ☺️ and to see how you manage the mess the Jack will do.
