My favorite thing about May is being able to get outside more, doing more, feeling more energized and getting things done in the garden! I love to plan on paper because it is so portable...the analog way of planning works best for me because I like that it allows me to see the big picture and to keep track of details efficiently in one spot! I like that you change up colors so often even on the same page. I love color and enjoy it in all forms ad all over! I've never done a bujo, but its very tempting because of the flexibility of it. I tend to use a standard calendar from one of the well-known vendors, but its a little confining. Love the page where you write down things Jack says. we think we will remember things our kids do and say, but there is absolutely too much to remember it all. LOve your vlogs, travels and book. Thank you for all you do.

I love the daily practice of paper planning. It forces me to be intentional with my time and I have found that it has made our daily life much less frantic. Hello Amy! I love your videos so much :-). It's really wonderful how approachable and real you are on them. I have tried the Bullet Journals before, but I had to capitulate once I realized they were not for me. The two things that set it back for me were that I had to write every day, every date, all those small details, and then that planning ahead wasn't really easy. I do plan on paper, but I use a Filofax. I started on a Personal Size, but this year I "graduated" to an A5 Malden and I am totally in love with it. But I'm preaching here to he choir, don't I? I use my filofax with colored pilot frixion pens, AND have imported the idea of the lists into my planning. So, for each daily slot I reserve the left side with the hours for appointments, and on the right side I put my lists and tasks. This allows me to future plan, takes away the need to write and plan every daily layout, and I can even plan ahead, in color and full detail the tasks for days and weeks ahead. And all my other notes and tracks go in separate segments, with dividers, loads of flags, post-its and you-name-it. Even my ink and fountain pen tests go in there! And I can even keep paper samples to try out different paper qualities and how my pages react to that.

I used Sunday night as my personal planning time reflecting on the past week and planning the future week and month. I retiredi April and now only need 1 planner. yeah. I like using paper planners because writing important things down by hand helps me to remember them better. If I shove it into my phone, it won't stick as well, because not as much effort and concentration is going into it! Plus paper planners are much more pleasing to look at when they're all decorated, and I also find them easier to look back on than a digital one.

i've been a planner my whole life it seems. i find when I write things down the act of writing it down helps me to remember whether or not I look at it again. One of my favourite things about May is making the really dumb May the Fourth be with you. There's something great about pretending to be a Jedi with a lisp! But there's something so great about planning on paper! So much research saying note taking is more effective when you're writing it by hand. Well, planning by hand follows the same principals! I actually *only* do a month at a glance. I do it like a list though with the days going down the left column and then three rows. First row is for work. Second row is for any appointments, and third row is anything else. I found that I don't need to keep track of daily tasks that much. I have two blank pages after my monthly view that I use for a brief budget overview and any notes, MITs, etc.
