Clearly I used the wrong fabric and mulch. I looked crisp and clean like yours but I found my plants got too hot. Once I removed it all, the plants bounced back and are thriving along with a few weeds lol

The mic is a little low, the b/g music is a little too loud but it's a good honest video. Thank you for producing and sharing. I'm watching for your gardening tips.

Thank you for pointing that out… I’m just shooting these as we go and actually doing the work but I will make sure I keep the music turned down a little bit on the future ones.

Great information but please fix the audio. It’s very hard to hear you between the music that you added and all the background noise.

That was me lol. Trying to capture a video of the work we do while we’re actually doing the work. I will move slower in future videos. Thanks for the pointer :-)

What a beautiful difference the mulch makes. You showed just a short segment on how you cut the edge. Are there mechanical edgers that would do a good job and shorten your time?

We do have a powered bed edger but there were enough roots to deal with on one of the beds and it was quite shallow to begin with so we went with the manual tool.

Your work looks great, but I can't help but wonder how you will clean up all the leaves that fall into the mulched beds? I would like to do this around my trees, but not sure how to get the leaves cleaned up without losing some of the mulch and making a mess of it.

A really good way to do that once the mulch has sat for a while and formed a bit of a harder barrier is to just use a blower on a low setting and go through the garden that way. You can generally blow the leaves out onto a grass area pretty easily without disturbing the mulch too much

What type of mulch is that? I can never find mulch in such small pieces.

It is a dark aged shredded mulch. From Meadows Landscape Supplies in Pitt Meadows near Vancouver BC Canada.

Is it something I can buy in a big box store like home Depot or Lowe's? Is it available online? I love the look.
@GGandG
@GGandG Жыл бұрын
@@darlenesawyer6739 yes… At most stores it’s called ‘black mulch’. Best thing to do is check it out in person first before you buy it just to make sure it’s shredded small enough. It’s not the larger chunks of wood chip type mulch. It’s more shredded looking. And in the video it had just been watered so when it dries up a bit it has a bit more of a lighter tone to it… But it always goes back to the darker look after a rain or after watering.

Very hard to watch because of your mic. Your talking is FAR TOO LOW and the background sounds, wind etc. are far too high. Disappointing because you have good subject matter.

I appreciate the feedback. These are all very early videos as far as shooting and capturing is concerned. Going to be ordering a wind proof wireless mic soon or just using the headphones instead of shooting with the phone microphone
