An Afternoon in the wild with elephants - Albino Baby Elephant Khanyisa and the Jabulani Herd.

You wouldn't say it had rained that morning; it is incredible how quickly the dry ground soaks up the much-needed rain! Khanyisa enjoyed her bottle from Herman, but Tokwe sampled a few drops at the end too.
Timisa was relaxed, doing her own thing independently. The elephants adapt so well to the changing seasons. You will see how they use their feet and trunks to dig up roots which provide them with excellent nutrients during dry seasons. Fortunately, we have had some good rain in the past week or two, so we look forward to a kinder and greener environment in the coming month or so!

I read sweet Timisa’s biography and it said she’s quite the foodie. In the video where the butternut squash was put out for them, she ran to the pile as fast as those little legs could carry her. Before she’d even finished one, another was going in her mouth, lol.

Tokwe stopped eating and turned to Adine as soon as Adine started explaining why Tokwe’s youngest herd member, Khanyisa, joined them late. In another video during a herd walk, when Adine addressed Tokwe (to tell her that Limpopo was misbehaving, lol), Tokwe stopped immediately and turned to her. Mutual respect between two matriarchs? As smart as Tokwe is, i wouldn’t be surprised. (It’s funny - I can remember things I read and saw months ago about the herd - elephants in general, too, but don’t ask me what I had for breakfast yesterday, lol. Actually, a HERD video popped up on my KZbin recommendation list one day and I watched it. Because info was included, I watched others and developed a fascination with the most incredible creatures on earth, which in turn led to donating what and when I can to this awesome organization. I’ve seen where others also say that from the first video, they were hooked!)

In a ellies sanctuary here they said the grass and all bush, litle trees, became more and better after the elephants arrived there. God give rain in Africa. Govern do something to prevent the dry in important sanctuaries .

Sweet baby khanyisa is so protected by all the adult elephants. I am so glad that the Hurd has adopted her. She is such a beautiful and sweet baby. It is so encouraging to watch the dynamics at Hurd. I just recently created a Ppt about Hurd and Khanyisa. I hope the students that I presented it to have taken the time to look at your KZbin site and are watching your documentaries like I do.
