To me, the absolutely indisputable connection between Lister and Ludwig is the absolute proof that this series cracked bloodborne

these links are so extremely disputable, i have no idea how you could think they come anywhere near "indisputable"...
@Bojangus-2 ай бұрын
@@davejacob5208the only concepts that have a stronger link than what we see here are the fishing hamlet and the great ones to the Cthulhu mythos. I’ve seen dozens of videos that claim Bloodborne is a lovecraftian game and none of them come close to the amount of connections as this series. Charred has nailed the essence of Bloodborne in this series in a way no other creator has.
@davejacob52082 ай бұрын
@@Bojangus- you have a serious issue of mistaking correlation with causation if you think such arguments as put forward about lister and ludwig "nail" anything. and by contrast, bloodborne literally uses terms like "old ones" to refer to the ancient beasts, that is not even "coming close to" lovecraft, that IS lovecraftian terminology.

William and John HUNTER were two early surgeons from Scotland from the generation before Lister. John was an infamous bodysnatcher. William was famous anatomist who studied the gravid uterus.

Ludwig being the first Church Hunter doesn’t mean he was not a hunter prior to that. Only that he adopted the medium under which he operated as a church hunter AFTER gehrman and what not

Yeah, I uploaded Part VI last night but there was a problem with the audio. I'll get it fixed and upload it today. Part IV is forever dead and buried, though. Fortunately, the few worthwhile points from that episode are covered in later videos of the series, so you're not missing anything important.

CT, thank you so much for this series. I can’t believe how late I am to it, but I’m seeing it’s praises far and wide, anywhere and everywhere lol. I have a quick question for you. Honestly I feel like I’m gonna have a lot of questions going forth lol. But it’s only because of how passionate about and in love I am with Bloodborne. I follow everything you say about Lawrence and his skull and its ape like appearance. So what does this mean about the way we see him during the fight? It makes me wonder about early theories of the entire game. Is this a projection of himself? Is this how he sees himself? Is this how we simply see him in our hallucination?

The True Mystery is how could Laurence physically establish the Healing Church and blood ministration using ancient ptumerian blood found deep in the tombs if his body is the Holy Medium / Body found in the tombs?
@10hawell5 ай бұрын
He went into tomb, drank blood there died, was brought back and his blood got used? Idk. I don't support that idea, I'm much more in a camp that he found a Great One Beast (cut boss) and used his blood to create beast blood and blood of ebryatas was used only on celestial emisary and living falures. And Laurence's skull can be two skulls, both his own skull and skull that he got in the tomb maybe from Great One Beast.
@Cpt.McMorpheus5 ай бұрын
His body perhaps became the medium for the choir after he died? Having been the first vicar, he probably had the least diluted blood. 🤷
@cat_and_cabbage46624 ай бұрын
Laurence literally became The Christ, like his boss arena shows, he imbibed the Old Blood, filling his body and transforming him into a (sort of immortal, at least resurrecting) beast. His body was snatched and autopsied and from his body was extracted the healing medium, The good blood of the healing church.

I think the problem in this series is that sometimes it confuses inspiration and meaning, and the use of the same thing for multiple simbols. Like the beasts; sometimes their are a representation of the addiction, others the representation of the bodys used in anatomy studies.
@GallantBlade4754 ай бұрын
Yeah, one very obvious weakness so far is that despite how compelling the individual details are, those details aren't really being pulled together to form a coherent narrative. Like, what is the commonality between victims of addiction and graverobbing? It's a fascinating comparison so surely there's a reason From Software is making it right?
@LunerKunai4 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's stretching credibility with statements like "X location in BB is meant to represent Y location in real life" from the previous episode. There are enough nuggets of truth that I feel they did indeed look into a lot of 19th century stuff for inspiration (including Victorian era architecture, RL Stevenson, and so on), but the way this series is presented is missing huge gaps that don't really fit in very well. The way this series comes accross is as if Miyazaki and others in From Software were REALLY into the history of this specific city's medical universities when it's far more likely they took broad strokes from all accross Europe. You see it in names like Henryk, Ludwig, and Gehrman which are obviously German names. Names are sometimes just names. In another video he posits a connection between someone named Joseph and Iosefka because the latter derives from Iosef. The presentation makes it seem like a slam dunk, until you look into how common the name Joseph is, and how many surgeons of the time period had the name as well. You could point to any other one of the mid 19th Joseph's and draw the same name conclusion.
