Honestly, out of all the T-Day videos I've watched, yours looks the most delicious and the fact you made everything from scratch, except the potatoes, just makes this dinner even better. And don't nobody hate the instant potatoes.....they are delicious.

That was one of the best Thanksgiving dinners. I have seen thus far on KZbin. I would rather go the extra $10 and be able to get some kind of protein doesn’t have to be turkey it could be chicken or whatever you happen to like for meat, but for me, it’s all about the sides. You did a fantastic job to be able to put that kind of a spread on for $25 or less is phenomenal. The broth with the fat rising to the top is a beautiful thing. Thank you Lisa.

My mama born 1928 taught me to cook a turkey. She as well as me coat the entire turkey with bacon grease and salt with a handful in the cavity and it taste so good!! But this year I felt adventurous and mixed butter with salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, garlic and onion powder. I then put it over and under the skin, dollop inside. I used the broth plus extra broth I'd canned to make my gravy and dressing. The flavor was out of this world. Since I made enough for freezer meals I'm not cooking Christmas but next year I'm gonna spatchcock a turkey and cooking it. Not sure the spices or mamas recipe but definitely gonna venture out. Blessings y'all!

anazing job, i like the dollar tree stuff, but showing how to do a more traditional tday with an actual turkey was great. i especially like the way you prepare the turkey early, saves from buying broth, the bread making is always awesome. can i suggest a playlist with the episodes where you make things with the flour? it would be useful to have in one place for us to find, when we want to make pasta, pirogi, breat etc.. great job, happy tday.

Aldi's has white sandwich bread for 98 cents. Perfect for making stuffing. For Rolls they have Hawaiian Rolls for $1.95. Today I scored Atlantic Salmon Fillets for 50% off so I'm adding that to my Thanksgiving meal. I like cooking the Turkey the day off as it just makes the whole house smell so wonderful. After Thanksgiving we pick all the meat off and Roast the bones in the oven til they are browned. Once browned they go in a large stainless pot on the stove with water and veggie scraps and cooked down for 2 days on low. Makes the best bone broth ready to can. I make my homemade pumpkin pie crust the night before as well as cook the pumpkin and make puree from our home grown pumpkins.

39:48 Your pot isn’t leaking, but unfortunately the base is starting to split from the rest of the pot 😢 a little bit of water has gotten into the gap during washing, and then when you heat the pot it boils out. Sadly, this means that your pot will start to have patchy/poor heat conduction and eventually the bottom of the pot might come off completely … It happened to me and I had to get a new pot in the end 😢

Sorry, it's 7 pages not 5. Here is what my Manual says if anyone else needs the instructions from it! Pressure Cooking Smart Programs These Smart Programs are designed to pressure cook specific types of food. You can adjust the settings as your recipe directs. Soup/Broth Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 30 minutes (00:30) 0 minute (00:00) 4 hours (04:00) Tip The soup/broth remains clear due to a lack of boiling motion. Use Natural Release for soups with a higher starch content. Meat/Stew Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 35 minutes (00:35) 0 minute (00:00) 4 hours (04:00) Tip Allow meat to rest for 5-30 minutes after cooking to retain juices. Bean/Chili Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 20 minutes (00:20) 0 minute (00:00) 4 hours (04:00) Tips When cooking beans or legumes, always use Natural Release method. Make sure dry beans are completely submerged in water. Rice Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 12 minutes (00:12) 0 minute (00:00) 1 hour (01:00) Tips Use a 10-minute timed steam release for fluffy rice. 24 User Manual Steam Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 10 minutes (00:10) 0 minute (00:00) 4 hours (04:00) Tips Use the provided silicone steam rack to elevate food above cooking liquid. Use Quick Release method to avoid overcooking food. Multigrain Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 40 minutes (00:40) 0 minute (00:00) 4 hours (04:00) Poultry Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 10 minutes (00:10) 0 minute (00:00) 4 hours (04:00) Tips Allow meat to rest for 5-30 minutes depending on size. It will retain cooking juices for tender, succulent meat. Egg Pressure High Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 5 minutes (00:05) 0 minute (00:00) 60 minutes (1:00) Tips Adjust cooking time as recipe directs. Use Natural Release method when cooking foods that expand. SAUTÉING Use Sauté in place of a frying or saucepan. Sautéing can deepen the flavors of your food, or can simmer, thicken or reduce sauces. Choose from these settings in the Sauté Smart Program: Cooking Temperature Low/Medium/High (default is set to High) Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 30 minutes (00:30) 1 minute (00:01) 1 hour (01:00) How to sauté Prep Cut, chop, season or marinate your ingredients according to your recipe. Remove food from inner cooking pot. 2. Add water, broth, or wine. 3. Use wooden spoon or silicone spatula to loosen food stuck to bottom of the inner cooking pot. Sautéing before Pressure or Slow Cooking Quite often, you’ll want to sauté foods to brown them before further cooking them. 1. Sauté ingredients. 2. Press Cancel. You can deglaze the inner cooking pot now before switching to Pressure Cook or Slow Cook (see Deglazing). 3. Select from the Smart Program. 27 User Manual SLOW COOKING Slow Cook lets you make your favorite simmering and stewing recipes - just like grandma used to make. This program does not use pressure to cook food. Make sure steam release is set to Venting or use a glass lid with a venting hole. Choose from these settings in the Slow Cook Program: Cooking Temperature Low/Medium/High (default is set to Medium) Cooking Time Default Cook Time Min Cook Time Max Cook Time 6 hours (06:00) 30 minutes (00:30) 24 hours (24:00 How to slow cook Prep Cut, chop, season or marinate your ingredients according to your recipe. Girl, you are so inspirational! You always do your videos that are budget minded, but your cooking skills are amazing, The Norman Rockwell, idea of a turkey, was spot on! I I would have never thought of separating the dark meat, Bravo! I hope it doesn't sound out of character, or offensive, you cook like you're from Appalachia. I am, and very proud of it! You cook like my grandma, my mom and me. It's not the ingredients that are the best; it's the work and heart you put into it.

By far the best thanksgiving dinner on a budget I’ve seen!!! I watched on where they used so much butter, milk, and other ingredients that it didn’t seem fair. They also only had turkey cutlets that were super thin. You put a lot more work into yours, but it showed in the end! Plus all those leftovers!! FYI on the gravy (which always seems to be my nemesis) if you get a jar and shake floor and water (or broth) to fully hydrate your flour, you can add that into a gravy or sauce that’s too thin. Just make sure the heat is low when you’re doing it, or it will be lumpy. Very impressive!!

The absolute joy to see this video posted yesterday,...I knew I was going to save it for my "dessert", when my own Thanksgiving was complete tonight, kitchen was clean, comfy warm clothes on (we got a snowy Thanksgiving) and I could relax, put my feet up with a nice cold adult beverage, and I'm so happy to I saved I waited.❤ Your videos always bring joy and that you blessed us with multiple Thanksgiving videos this year was simply amazing!!! Thank you for all of your efforts and providing a "dessert" that truly competes with the Mayo cake with Peanut butter frosting I'm going to indulge in now that I've caught up with the important notifications on my phone,...a new That Lisa Dawn video.

Your menu is great! Hearty and flavorful! Yesterday i used my Hamilton Beach 22qt roaster. I love it. I break it out every year to cook my turkey. Yesterday I cooked a 22lb turkey in it and it only took 3 hours! And the breast was 170 when the legs n thighs were done. It was very moist and flavorful. I brined it the night before in the same roaster in a mix of salt, brown sugar, Apple cider, onions, garlic, black pepper. I hate turkey but it was very delicious! Made stuffed mushrooms, sweet potatoes, string beans casserole, broccoli rice casserole n alfredo potatoes. Very easy and not too expensve!

I'm currently pre-cooking some dishes for Thanksgiving, tomorrow, while watching this. Didn't even speed it up like I do to most KZbin videos bc I wanted to savor it! I love your videos! And I made my first green bean casserole in 44 years of lige NOT using cream of mushroom/chicken condensed canned soup..instead making the roux and milk (and added in some bacon and onions) like you showed in these videos. Excited to see taste difference!

Very innovative with the turkey! 🦃 I’m not a full turkey girl so I cook smoked turkey wings and use the drippings to include in my dressing! Thanks for all the love in your videos Lisa, happy Thanksgiving 🍁
