Hi Merrill, I think that thing you found at 04:14 might be the cutting tip for an oxyacetylene torch. I found one somewhat like it a few weeks ago, and identified it by uploading a photo to Google Lens, which is a surprisingly handy way to identify mystery objects, in case you hadn't known.

Thank you for keeping it real. I am a long way from any saltwater beaches but I enjoy hearing your explanation of the art of beach metal detecting. I know that the field trips you take to farm fields and old homesteads are few and far between but if you're ever able to impart similar knowledge for those sort of sites, which I have an abundance, I'd be especially grateful.

Don’t stress that much on the likes and subscribers. the people you have that watch really enjoy what you make and everything you do. What an awesome day you had, congratulations. Also I’m so happy you got the manticore in, I really love you website and videos on metal detectors. You are the reason I chose to buy a legend and I’m extremely happy I did. I absolutely love that machine. Eventually in a year or so I’ll look into getting another one. But for now I’m enjoying the legend. You continue doing what you do best and this will grow. Thank you so very much! I have been trying to start metal detecting for many decades. I have a specific limitation which makes it so I am very motivated and work hard at whatever my goals are but I reach the point where I need to make a decision and I am mentally locked. I have a very successful career in Engineering but this is a constant issue that a couple of my buddies privately help me with. (I love them for it). My family is not able to but your videos make it possible to proceed with a short list to present to them so I can have all of my family including my wife metal detecting! A red quarter is a thing. A restaurant or bar owner would paint some quarters red, and then use them in the jukebox or pool table. And when the money is collected, the red quarters are the owners, and they get them back.

Hello my detecting friend! i am Frank and i am writing to you from the deep North of Canada most of Québec deep North! Man i love your videos i learned so much watching you and listening to you your the Best! The only thing is that you live in USA where there is thousands of beaches ! Here we have the most Lakes, Rivers, Crick and Natural forest in the world! So the beaches are either naturaly small or adventure sites and Camping beatches! I Bought a year ago a Vanquish 540 Pro Pack and for a first detector i am very happy and i like when you do hunt with it! When you use other Detector i listen less about the machine more on your technics of hunting. Here we have 4000 years of history with the indians and 1500 - 1600 colonisations. Last year a man detected, 45 min from my little town, a 3500 old village all because of a detector! So newly retired, 31 years of saving life, from being and officer in special intervention team and crash and rescue. I got badly injured on a rescue mission broke my back i became paraplegic :( Miracles happen after 3 major surgeries and 2 bone transplants it took me 1 1/2 to learn to walk again! So my doctors told me to slowly find activities that would make me walk and move and exercise to my limits! Beside being in the paradize of nature, fishing and hunting i discover Detecting! So i , plz let me kow if i made a good choice with the 540 pro, amd i equiped my self from A to Z for metal detecting. I red and watch so much videos and Boom , an other Miracle, i found You! BOOOUM SUSHI TIME!!! I think i am prety sure i watch at least 85% of your video at this moment and finaly had to write this book to you! Sorry for the lenght of this message but i wanted to say to You a Great Thank You for your work and you passion expessing it in videos! Plz dont stop, you are in my favorite and you cant excape :) God Bless you and you family, Thx again Frank from the deep North (Sorry for my english writing mistakes being french my talking and listening are lot better)

I’ve watched a few of your videos. And while I don’t get mad when ppl just run the middle of a “patch”. I see this often. Like physics somehow goes out the window out there sometimes I dunno. Little stuff aluminum and silver up high. Coins rings trash in the middle. Gold low. Usually gravity works on the beach too… such a good patch like you got that day I’m with you on the never gridding too for the most part but I grid good patches. I use an old cz20 in salt and yes absolutely a soda tab burps like a 30 gram 14k ring. But if I dig a tab, then another etc I go lower and dig it all. Sometimes there’s layers sure but tide is coming and I’m on the clock. You know what your doing out there my guy 👍🏻👍🏻 if anyone watching this thinks they can just skip over the junk and dig 15-30 or solid mids. You’re missing out. Lot of information in this video and very textbook of the perfect day to find the yellow 👍🏻👍🏻
@jeanponce20172 жыл бұрын
When you look down the beach you see the lines where the tides rise to. Coins can surf and do suft when water is under them and they hydroplane. There does develope a "coin line" persay. But rings DO NOT surf and with the weight of gold they kind of roll with bigger stones, gravel and lead sinkers so they don't get surfed up to that "coin line". In the surf I love finding Stony outcrops like where you had the 3 ring day. When they are not visual I like to find the gravel cuts that kind of stay near the waters edge around the low tide line. If you were to use a Pulse Inductor and not that one they sent you to use. If you used like a Whites surfmaster PI they will nail those chains that VLF's struggle to hit on silver and rarely hit in gold unless it's big or it has the pendant still on it. After you get an ear for a Pulse Inductor you can start to hear iron slams where gold or silver and coins ( non ferrous) pops faster then the longer harder iron signal. The newer Pulse detector like the TDI can be balanced to discriminate but it will cost too much depth do it's better to learn the slight audio difference. Another KZbin content creator called Detector Comparison mostly tests all machines on a mineralized iron loaded salt beach. If you look at him testing the TDI wading where there's no way of planting targets you 2atch him find a tiny gold charm amungst many other finds. He hunts from NY to Massachusetts and he kills the rings like anybody I've seen. But in fairness he dives underwater in shallow water around were docks were or beaches. He also digs tons of lead sinkers. But check out a pulse detector. The one you were sent was totally the wrong machine for beach hunting. That was designed for the minerals in the nugget fields of Australia not our black sand beaches. 12 in is the max coil you should use with a pulse machine or it might hit a gold tooth filling with a coil any bigger. Or it will go crazy over your coin pouch. I wondered why they sent you that model???
