I really like your videos… nicely done. I have been using a full set of Rokinon Cine lenses in a Nikon F mount so I can use them on any brand of body. Shot the Fuji XT4 for a bit over a year, but sold it all to get four S5 bodies so I can use a different focal length on each body. Question: Do you know how these compare to the Rokinon Cine DS lenses? I shoot below T2 on the Rokinon lenses. PS: I also enjoy shooting with vintage Nikkor lenses.

Thanks for this review of the third lens; i had placed my order already a few days ago - based also on your previous reviews - and i am looking forward to receiving them and using them on my fp and SL. Since i shoot mostly still, i have been using photo lenses so far, and i am excited about having a set of affordable cine lenses. Keeping fingers crossed hoping they will add a 24 or 25mm at some point (sooner rather than later).

Absolutely! Glad I could help with the info. I am excited to see what they do next for the line up. I was really impressed with these little lenses.

The screws that come with the lens are designed to be “geared” or used with follow-focus equipment, and that equipment has to attach to the focus and aperture rings. However, I don’t think they ever came out with the equipment.

Being a fellow Lumix shooter (s5ii), if you had to choose between the 7Artisans (35 & 85) or Rokinon (35 and 85) with an adapter? I like that some of the Rokinon have weather sealing. Though Idk if filters are weather sealed so that could nullify it in general. Also I already have the 35 Spectrum from 7Artisans. Probably worth it to just get the 85 since I already have filters for those threadings. But I wonder if the Rokinon's are worth trading out for or adding over time the collection

Anson! I've been eyeing these guys over the past few weeks. Only thing stopping me is that color difference between the 35 and the rest of the lenses in the set.

GERALD! I know! I really wish they had better attention to detail, but for a set you can pick up for the cost of one lens from competitors, there is a trade off for sure.

It is a shame they don’t color match. But for a set of lenses that you can buy the whole set for the same price as one lens from the competitors, there has got to be a downside

Is your screen at 7:07 all three lenses side by side? If so, I'd say the 50 (middle shot) is the most different colour-wise... shifted cooler and more magenta.... I'm looking for someone show a good colour comparison within this set...
@Ansonandco2 жыл бұрын
The side by side shots are all three lenses and if I remember correctly the end of the video is all comparison shots of the set. The 35 was cooler in my experience and the 50 and 85 were closer together in color, but they are not perfectly matched lenses
@prOkrEAt3 ай бұрын
I agree that the 50 was most different from 35/85 in the side by sides in the video. I do have all these and the 14mm too. These are great for the price IMO and yes, I have about 15 vintage lenses (Helios 44m/2/4/7, Jupiter 9s, Zeiss 50/85, oreston, mamiya, and others), which are all great but even the 2 Helios 44m are different, but one is 13 blade... And the 2 44m-2 are different, and all 3 Jupiter 9s are different. And I have to get follow focus rings on them all which depending how you do it can be pricey for nice metal ones or probe to slipping with the rubber ones. But can't beat their character.

Isn’t the pins for the same thing as a manual follow focus? They kinda look like focus stops if your hoping between two object. Not sure though but great video!

I notice a certain muddy look at the focus breathing segment🤔Did you do do something with mid tones or adjusted for skin tones?

It may have been slightly out of focus. I was not watching critical focus as much as usual for the test. I also slapped a grade on, so it may have been slightly off.

Think the pins could be used to mark certain focus points so you can hit them during a scene with moving subject?
@Ansonandco2 жыл бұрын
That would normally be set on the follow focus unit and not the lens. And the pins to not overlap with the focus gears. I thought it may have had to do with focusing, but there is no cross over with the focus ring. I asked 7artisans and no one could answer 🤷🏼♀️

Today my set of spectrum lenses for Sony arrived. In fact, the 35mm lens is much warmer than the 50 and 85, I even feel that it has a warm coating that makes everything look like Mexico in Breaking Bad. Color consistency between lenses is something important to me, I hope others take it into account if they are thinking of purchasing this set.
