@@u.twinston2343 Between Derek and Nard Dog Cooks the selection of good recipes is not challenging. I'm actually enjoying it so far. But I've just started so I can't talk about long term.
@RigaTony19985 ай бұрын
@@u.twinston2343 I've been vegan for about 6 years now and also wish I'd started much sooner. I have gone from 230lbs with no muscle to maintaining around 170lbs for a while, but I don't know if I would necessarily say that this change was because of the switch to being plant-based. There was a slight weight drop to like 215 after I switched, but nothing crazy because I initially did the switch for the animal and didn't care about my own health. I was the vegan living mostly off of vegan junkfood and shoving Oreos in my face all the time. It was only when I started also caring more about my own health and focused more on eating more wholefoods and fitting regular exercise into my days when I started noticing the bigger long-lasting health change. I guess the long-story-short here is I think on both ends of the meat-vegan spectrum there are ways that you can make a diet healthy or unhealthy. If you think simply switching an unhealthy omnivore diet to an unhealthy plantbased diet, I can't guarantee that you'll notice that massive of a difference weight-wise. However, if you're thinking about going vegan for the animals or the environment and are worried about it negatively impacting your health, then I would highly encourage you to go for it, do some research on how to do it right, and be smart about it (but hell, you can still let yourself enjoy Oreos too from time to time). 💚🤘

I’ve watched a lot of your videos, but I don’t think I’ve ever commented. Figured I’d just do a comment dump here on this video! Re: spoiling animals, “that’s what they’re here for.” 100% agree!! I have 2 house panthers (we don’t tell them they’re just regular black cats) who demand throughout the day that I pay the toll (treats, head scratches, etc) for the fortune of having them in our home. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. So of course I also like seeing that you so heavily feature your own fur-baby in your videos and that you show how much you love her and spoil her. The scrunchies on the ears are Frankie’s best outfit, IMHO. As for the food part of your channel, I enjoy and look forward to all your videos and am learning so much about incorporating flavorful plant-based food into my diet. I’ve got a block of the vacuum-packed tofu in my fridge and am making a couple whole wheat baguettes tomorrow so I can make this sandwich… and also have enough for a 2nd sandwich the day after. 😊 Thank you for all the time you take sharing your knowledge through your videos. I live in Spain so definitely appreciate some no cook recipe ideas. I get so stuck for what to eat in the summer.

Oh, and in Spanish it would be called a bocata or bocadillo.

Near Toronto we say sub or submarine. Great video! I needed a few summertime ideas. Your greens prepared that way with the hot water will really help me with getting in the green 💚

It’s been tough on Mr Sub since Subway and Quiznos came on board. Even tougher now with Firehouse and jersey Mike’s coming

Derek, thank you so so much for listing the full recipe out in all your videos. It makes following your recipes so much easier when it comes to cooking. Your videos are so relaxing to watch, recipes are amazing, music is so soothing (love the classical). This channel is the best vegan channel in all the years I have seen. Thank you again.

Hi, Chef! I'm so happy to have discovered your channel! I'm here in Suffolk county, Long Island, NY. Here, we generally refer to this type of sandwich as a "hero." Love seeing you with your sweet girl!🙂🐶

I love this! I’ve lived in 5 states along the east coast of the USA. I’ve called them heroes, submarines sandwiches, grinders, and hogies.
