I made a vow to teach the world about the Naga culture. Unfortunatley.. I failed. I just drank rice beer all day. I didnt teach anything. But today that changes. Today I become a plethora of information. Come with me as learn in detail about some of the naga tribes... And then drink lots of rice beer.
enjoy, mike x

The people managing the Chakhaesang morung this year should be ashamed for denying him two times. Remember, the hornbill festival is celebrated not to make money but to showcase the rich ethnicity of our culture. Please be civilised and be warm to visitors next time, or if you can’t do that, give the management to more civilised people of the tribe.

Exactly my thought. I appreciate their hard work and magnificent cultural displays but I'm also disappointed that no one even took time to explain about my own culture. It's sad.

How’ sad no one from Chakhesang’s morung could speak up about our tribe. It’s not only about putting on traditional attires but also having knowledge about one’s own tribe.

Wish i was around to talk with him or atleast someone could have taken time to speak with him. Perhaps no one was prepared to present our own history confidently so making excuses with work. It's a festival to learn and promote. We can't use work as an excuse not to proudly present our own history when someone asks us. It's a shame. Though their work, attires and cultural shows were beyond amazing, i wish someone could have at least taken time to answer his curious questions.

I think NBSE should add Nagas tribes Subject in the syllabus. Nagas are finding hard to explain the Origin. In this video many people find it difficult to explain thier own origin.
@bambino6626
@bambino6626 7 ай бұрын
Yes it should be but there is no clear validation to make it official since every tribe has their own story of nagas origin. And it will create more confusion and debates. This is the sad reality.

The institution of dormitory among the NE tribes is one of the social marker of the principle ‘psychic unity of mankind’. The dormitories of various tribes are named differently but the Misings of Assam and the Adis of Arunachal finds similarities with the Nagas in terms of the concept and also the nomenclature. Misings & Adis called it the Murong Okum. Just an added fact into the world of Northeast culture.

Morung is an ahom word which means houses , barracks or dormitory .It is not a Naga word so each tribe has its own name.Morung is a big hall built seperately for young men to sleep and to keep watch at night on the enemies After attaining the age of puberty,boys are admitted to their respective dormitory.Men can sleep at morung for some time even after their marriage, generally,these are for unmarried boys.There is no fee for staying in the morung ,but all the members have to take part in the activities of a morung. I am explain in very short thank you ❤❤❤ Next time also do Nagaland ❤lots of love from the Nagaland ❤
