The idea of a kitchen being the most used space is absolutely correct and designers need to focus more on making these spaces interesting and usable rather than retrofitting.
@bougiehard66533 жыл бұрын
Nah.. The kitchen being the most used space is absolutely subjective, it depends on who you are.
@13janvi3 жыл бұрын
@@bougiehard6653 true but the user group who uses the kitchen least is less. If you’re talking about students, most of them live in shared homes/hostels . While major user groups are families who live in a proper house and need a fully functioning kitchen.

Really appreciate the slide about acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land and waters of Ausralia. But WHO are they? Those of us who are not from there would like to know those people's names. For example, on Turtle island, we say (at the beginning of a conference or a speech or a gathering) that we are on the traditional territory of the _______people who have cared for and continue to care for this land and we commit to a process of decolonization. Point being - would be nice to name those people. Otherwise, it can feel hollow.
@SimpleDwelling3 жыл бұрын
Hi Robin, A completely valid comment in which I’m happy to say that recently I do insert who the people’s is. If you watch one my recent videos, you will see how I do things now (and intend to continue to do so), including having the acknowledgment towards the start of the video.

Are residents required to maintain these so-so "historic facades? By and large, they're really dull structures viewed from the street. Missed opportunity to say something fun and remarkable. Too cute as is. The rest of the house looks great!
@SimpleDwelling3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes they are, such as if there are heritage overlay constraints on an area or property, which stipulates that the historical facade must not be touched. Other times the owners or architects love the facade, and want to keep it, and in some cases they keep it to help with the sustainability.
