This is BEYOND scummy, I don't have anything against Dark Romance inherently but it seems that the authors and fans of the genre are going too far. Thanks for bringing light to the matter!

It seems like people lose all perspective and empathy as soon as they have a goal they want to accomplish. Then it's like everything goes out the window in service of what they want. Gross.

Thank you for saying all that about true crime. I was really picky about what podcasts or videos I consumed but its gotten to the point where even some of the decent ones either dont take things seriously and throw random opinions or flippant remarks sometimes going as far as victim blaming. Or doing a mukbang, their makeup, a full skincare routine walkthrough, or a craft tutorial. Some will dramatise and sensationalize the violence and the killer while skimming past the lives of the victims other than their speculations about how they felt in their final painful moments. Or they sanitize it for easy monitizable content. Dont tell the viewer to look up the case if they want to know what happened outside of the phrases "grape" and "unalive". Its just washing away what really happened to the victims and insight into the psychological makeup of the killer; which, is in a lot of cases how they were profiled and tracked down. I used to be someone who consumed truecrime to the point where I was completely desensitized to it. When i realized how fucked up it was that i agreed with someone who said a shooting case (one victim, unsolved) was just boring so they wouldn't cover it I took a step back and now only consume it consciously like I did when I first started listening.
