I've only read it once, but this was a hard era to like, and I'm not crying about the Mary Jane thing. I just couldn't get into the seemingly random and arbitrary new cast of characters that appeared out of nowhere. A lot of this was just bland and corny. I ordered this and will give it another read.

This is comic books, left field shit and changes in direction and editorial decisions are going to happen. It's no secret that they struggle to inject freshness into series that have been going on for decades and decades. It's not a direct attack on you personally and it's immature to be personally offended and still raging fifteen years later. This happened so long ago and yet people are still crying like babies. I did not care for the decision to do this, and yet somehow I can wrap my mind around the fact that they did decide to do it for reasons they clearly laid out. I'm not going to keep crying about it for decades afterwards.

Kind of like Age of Apocolypse, Onslaught/Reborn, House of M, Hickman’s avengers. It’s comic books dude it happens constantly… with spidey’s baggage I had to suspend my disbelief that he could even go on up to this point. Was a perfect time to reset.

I didn't like Brand New Day. It felt like they threw away tons of progress Spider-Man made in his life that I was invested in for years, just to reset him to a hard luck loser (already sick of this for Peter), and tell what felt like mostly filler stories.

I dropped Spider-Man after One More Day, but I may pick this up since most of the art looks good (the coloring looks really ugly and muddy in some places though) and Spider-Man comics are in the toilet right now. What are you complaining about they just announced ASM Omnibus 6 coming out, and the Bagley omnibus is coming out soon. They also announced the Black Costume Saga omnibus. There's no shortage of older Spider-Man stuff being published, you can even go to the Masterworks for more if you want.

@@xposhboyx all this modern material is available in other formats and digital. There is plenty of material not available in any form of collected editions. DeMatteis' Spectacular, Conway's Spectacular and Web of, era between Clone Saga and first reboots. Outside a few good stories here and there BND is just crap, sure it's polished with quite nice art but that doesn't change the story quality

@@juuso7792 I'm not defending the content, it's mostly lame, and I totally agree with you, I'm waiting on the later spectacular and the entire web of series for sure. But they are still churning it out at a rapid pace. And they still have to gauge the market and what people will buy and there is a demand for this, it's not readily available in other formats right now. I don't agree with complaining every single time a modern era book comes along that people could read it digitally or buy some other format. No use bitching and whining all the time, or shitting on something that others want.
