Today I'm using a siphon fertilizer injector to send fertilizer through my drip irrigation. This makes short work of a big job. #shorts

I watch a video saying this cannot be used for irrigation only hand watering

That may be a fair statement. There are many reasons why a venturi fertilizer injector may not work, although I'll admit it's been a while since I've read up on the conditions. I believe the length of your hose lines and how that affects pressure is the main concern. Fortunately the $35 injector in this video does still function on my drip system. All the other options I found were in the hundreds of dollars. If you have a small garden it's probably worth a try.

How is the ratio of feed measured?

The system I have is still pretty manual so I just decide how much fertilizer I want on the beds I'm currently watering, and only add that much fertilizer to the bucket. I have no confidence in the feed rates promised on the package because I'm using this in a pretty non standard way. But honestly everyone's water pressure at the point of injection is going to be different and thus the rate of feed in the instructions isn't going to be accurate. I wish I could give you a better answer but at a $30 price point I don't think accuracy is this particular model's strength.

@saskhomesteadlab I get it...I guess start weak and increase if needed 😃

My recommendation is just to read the instructions on the fertilizer itself. Let's say the fertilizer you use says to use 3 tablespoons per gallon of water and to put that one gallon of water on 20 square feet of soil. If you know you are watering 100 square feet of soil then you could just add 15 tablespoons of fertilizer to some amount of water in a bucket and inject that into your garden. The mix rate doesn't matter so long as you water the garden until it's all used up.
