Honestly, a mouse smoothing option could be really good for people with Parkinson's, or other mobility issues or people who struggle with precise control over mouse movements. Like there are things you can't click on in windows if you are still moving your mouse, because it will try to drag whatever you are clicking. There might be options in software that people could set up for free, but honestly people in older generations usually just want to buy a physical item to fix their problems instead of fiddling with software, and this might help them use a mouse a bit easier. Accessibility is always a good thing.

Agreed! Honestly considering doing a smaller standalone unit just for the smoothing - I feel like that's the most useful at the moment. The folks at Adafruit recently demoed something similar too if I'm remembering correctly.

other than parkinsons I'm using a software to smooth my movements while drawing. This could be a plug an play smoother for any hardware without a software need.

I could see the mouse filter being useful in image editing software for situations where a proper Wacom tablet kinda thing isn't available. Like being able to achieve very fine control with a mouse where that would normally be more difficult

Best use I think would be the mouse option. For anyone, stroke victim etc, with limited hand or arm movement, loss of speech. They could maybe move the scroll wheel and buttons to write things on screen if they cannot talk. 👍😀

as soon as you said tremolo, i thought of lowercase and uppercase and thought oh that would be great for typing in that SpongeBob sarcastic case. and then i see you actually built that in 😂 great project mate!

I love your projects, they're fun and interesting. I still use the T9 keyboard you made, it's super comfy to use when laying down.

This is yet another amazing project guy. There are so many features in this it’s mind blowing for a single button and encoder. By offloading each feature to separate encoders or potentiometers you’ve got a heck of a nice basis for a fully fledged synthesizer.

I'll be totally honest and admit I bought this way before I thought about how I would even use it because I just love weird experimental technology (and have a really bad addiction to anything in a guitar pedal housing). However, after sitting with it a bit, I realized the Mouse Looper would be super useful at work when I am installing programs or updates on a client's computer and I don't want to have to keep going back every 10 minutes to make sure the computer hasn't fallen asleep! I think the Keyboard Tremolo is also going to be a lot of fun when I want to annoy my friends.

Ahh thanks so much! I'll get that out to you early next week. Excited to hear what you end up using it for.

My work tracks online status by mouse and keyboard inputs, this would really help me avoid going offline when I am not busy. Very cool!

Anyone who uses mouse tracking or keyboard input in max/msp, processing, lighting software... etc this is obviously a clever little layer of great fun! I love this project!! Great work!!

I absolutely love the absurd taken seriously. Silly projects completed with absolute professionalism are awesome, and this definitely hits the mark. I also love(hate) usb hid device stuff. I've been playing with it off and on for a few years now. This is a cool implementation. Does this clone the hid information from the mouse/keyboard and then present it to the PC, or does the pedal just act as it's own hid device and then pass just the mouse/keyboard input to the host PC? It'd actually be kind of neat to put a modified version of the KMK keyboard firmware on it and turn any keyboard plugged into it into a KMK keyboard with layers and macros. Hell, in fact I would love to do exactly that, as I have a lot of layers/macros I use on my home keyboard that'd I'd like to use at work, but don't want to lug my keyboard to work all the time. Could carry this and throw it in as a middle man. Could then also have a hotkey combo to enable a mouse jiggler as well. I love someone else's comment about using it as basically a password encrypter. Have your secret key so you can have an easy to remember password, that when typed through the pedal outputs something much more complex. Could even have the password mode passworded, so you have to type a specific key sequence when password mode is enabled.

Love the KMK idea! And yeah the pw idea was great too. This presents itself as its own USB device, since (regardless of what's plugged into it) it can always act as a keyboard/mouse/serial device.

When you try and make a funny guitar pedal but accidentally create a modern Enigma Machine. You could make some pretty long and complex passwords that only need a few keystrokes to input with this.

If you assign your computer keyboard to act as a MIDI keyboard, this could then be used as an actual looper and/or harmonizer. Would be a nice chaotic factor to "randomize" notes and give composers new melody and harmony ideas. I read the article on Hackster and thought this was silly but now that I've watched the video I still think it's silly but also useful. ...plus it would make a fantastic gag gift or white elephant gift for a musician/tech enthusiast 😂
