how do you get the data? is it a public websocket?
@GuyDupont
@GuyDupont 5 күн бұрын
It's "public" in the sense that it doesn't require authentication. But you do have to decompress the data as it comes through. If you look at the homeassistant-blitzortung project on github, you can see an example of how to get it.

Hey man, this is incredible. Are you planning to sell your services to build mods for customers? I really want to buy one just like this with these specific modifications (pref. with working headphone jack) from some I trust and you feel like someone I can trust.

Very cool project! Thank you for showing me the Raspberry Pi's possibilities. I have zero knowledge about electronics but considering to get into this hobby as I just bought a soldering kit just to fix some appliances for now.

Hate to be that guy but this is an Ipod 4th gen - not an Ipod classic (6th and 7th gen). This video and project is amazing and I wish I was talented enough to try to replicate this lol

I'm curious. Could I, hypothetically make a program that maps the numpad to a t9 library?
@GuyDupont
@GuyDupont Ай бұрын
yes! In fact I kinda did that when I started this project as a way to test/debug without needing external hardware. You can use pynput (Python library) to intercept key presses, process them through my T9 implementation, and then generate the new key presses.

This is really cool, I wish I had the ability to do something like this. What I would really like to be able to do is stream my music collection that is my NAS and using Plexamp app to something like this. Great video, thank you for taking the time to make it.

Good idea but the essence of an ipod is playing your own music
@GuyDupont

I've gotten this response a bunch and I used to agree with it. I think nowadays the essence of an iPod (for me) is not doing anything except for playing music.

If you just put a physical switch (that the door can push on) directly in the speaker's wire, you have absolutely 0 latency since you dont use the microcontroller for processing the switch read.
@GuyDupont
@GuyDupont 2 ай бұрын
yeah but then the microcontroller would have to stay powered on! This allows it to go into deep sleep - the pin attached to the photo resistor is configured as an interrupt so there's not really any processing involved. Your idea is good though, I'm just not too worried about latency for this one : )
