For years, I shot mostly Ektachrome. But, that was in the 70s and 80s so..... right now I have an expired roll of.... something made by Kodak in my Canon EOS Elan 7 ne. It may take me a year to get through it... who knows. If i remember to, when I manage to shoot it up, I'll check back in and let you know what happened with it. Don't develop high expectations for this.
@bennmurhaaya85182 жыл бұрын
Maaan, seeing all that expired film... I admire your youthful energy! I used to shoot a ton of these almost a decade ago, cross processing the living heck out of them (btw try that with your expired slides, it gives it bit more density) but scanning them was always such pain. One or two shots from every roll were a killer but last few rolls I actually gave away and paid for the shipping to get that expired analog heroin out of my fridge and out of my life for good! It's hard to kicking the habit, stay strong! :D

I got three rolls of slide ORWO UT18 for Christmas … about 40 years expired and meant to be developed with a discontinued process. Was pretty surprised to get 4 decent shots from the first test roll - gonna expose rest at +3 / 5 / 7! 🤪 happy that my friend at the lab has patience to deal with my stuff X)

Went on youtube to see baxter, and well I was not disappointed. Your videos made me start to shoot film and now you make me wait for january every year to rewatch the whole "ektachrome christmas" series when the new part arrives. So I guess thank you for my film camera addiction and my empty bank account. At least I am happy and it is just everyone around saying I got crazy. I am already looking for your next videos - and of course for Ektachrome Christmas 5

I'm so glad that other people shoot with expired film, as I just wouldn't waste my time on it. I'll just think back (and possibly scan some) to when I shot with Kodachrome 25 / 64 and 200 (we're talking 70' & 80s) and all those film stocks that you can only dream of. Great video as always.

EPN** is for color reproduction (catalog work). EPP is for portraits/fashion. Color reproduction was still accurate but had a different spectral response and saturation boost. Also crossed nicely and was a very popular look end of 90's/ early 2k! Who processed this film? There's some problems with your first bath. If you don't want to do it at home, i recommend AGX Imaging if you need transparency development. No better out there :)

Fresh EPP 100 became my go to film, even before the demise of Kodachrome. The colors were so vibrant, had great latitude, shot so much, ended up buying it in 100ft rolls, rolling and processing it myself. Was not happy when they discontinued it. Wish it would come back. (The dated EPP here does NOT do it justice.)

Old Ektachrome is like playing Russian roulette with 3 rounds loaded. I have had the exact same results as you to where I just experiment with the film just to get it out of my inventory. Apparently cross processing with c41 chems will yield better results, that's what I'm going to try next. For anyone reading this if you're going to shoot expired slides look more into Fuji's offerings, I get much better results consistently than I do with Ektachrome.

Gad, that was so good. I might have to watch it 73,000 more times. Great, chill video wrapped around the stills you shot. I agree that the blue Ferris wheel in the fog is about the best of what you created on this outing. You went to some really nice places, got a lot of good images where the film performed, and had a rewarding time with friends and family. What more could one ask for? As for the expired film bit...how many times is that experiment going to be repeated? Are folks trying to prove a connection between the chemical medium and zombies? "They're dead, but they still live enough to function." Perhaps you should treat film like cream cheese; when it is way past its date treat it like the shart candle and keep your distance. Anyway, I got my fix and can stumble along to your next release. Thanks for beaming into my computer.
