Namaste, We are Shirish and Pooja and Welcome to the New Episode of @RedSoilStories
Alu vadi (अळूवडी) is a Traditional Maharashtrian Dish which is very popular in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Other states of India. This is our story how we prepared how we prepared and enjoyed this Delicious Alu Vadi Recipe and Enjoyed it in the Farm.
It was a beautiful day, Pooja and I were working in the rice farm. It was afternoon and I (Shirish) craved for Tea and Some crispy snacks. I asked Pooja to bring some tea and snacks. She agreed and went home to prepare something.
She plucked some Colocasia levaes ( Taro Leaves) अळूची पाने and rinsed them thoroughly. Alu Vadi Recipe is very easy to prepare, first she mixed few spices in Chickpea flour and made the batter ready then applied it to the Taro leaves and layered the Alu Vadi (अळूवडी) with more leaves and batter. Rolled the layers and steamed them.
Since the batter was left she tried a different version of Alu Vadi by chopping the Taro Leaves अळूची पाने and mixing them in the batter. She then spread this mixture on a cut banana leaf and steamed them too.
Both the steamed Alu Vadi were cut into respective pieces and deep fried in oil.
I was waiting in the farm for Pooja bringing tea it was Evening now but She brought the Alu Vadi and I forgot about the delay. We enjoyed the Alu Vadi and Tea together overlooking the Farm.!
