Kevin does & doesn't smoke up. Depends on his gig at the time. When he was on Opie & Anthony he had just started up again & said some funny shit about it. I used to torque up, gave it up after developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis) & then all sorts of other health probs. Thing is, everything is better if you're not a slave to it. This video is pure gold. I hope Jason is doing well & keeping himself out of trouble.

@cryptkeeper113 oddly enough that was the question right before this one on the DVD. and according to Smith that character was based on how Mewes was before he went to film school. so yeah he was pretty much like "your going in a fucking movie"

He was like that (as in like Kay) when he was younger (like a young teenager). Jay the character is basically just a young Jason Mewes. Smith specifically wanted Jason Mewes as Jay in Clerks just to see if anyone else found his shenanigans as funny as Smith did. Mewes mellowed out a bit later (obviously he still has a risque sense of humor but nothing compared to Jay) and is actually a bit shy.

I like the movies and enjoy the stories, but don't see how Jay is a comedic genius. I would say Kevin is way funnier and more coherent than Jay. But that is just me, don't need a round of answers telling me I'm wrong.
