I love this sentiment. People go to movies for escapism, because they drink the cool aid that living 100 years in the corner is the "responsible" thing to do. I live for the 30 of Adventure. Because 99.9 percent of us, when dead, will be forgotten anyway. And those who are remembered, are not usually the 100 year 9 to 5er's. Better to burn out, then fade away? I wouldn't say that. Who Dares Wins. Maybe not all the time. But I haven't heard anyone experiencing the treasures life has to offer by "playing it safe". @Lamtitude4 жыл бұрын
Mychael Darklighter I think you’re missing the point. Kevin stood up to Harvey when he didn’t have too. There was no band wagon to jump on when he told Harvey off. It was potentially a very hazardous thing to do for his career to stand up to Harvey at that time and yet he did it because he felt like it was the right thing to do. It was very brave thing to do. All the celebrities that came out of the woodwork to slam Harvey did so only after there was a public outcry for his head. No bravery what so ever.
@zamiel34 жыл бұрын

@@zamiel3 Not one single person thinks anyone was automatically aware about what Harvey was doing, but that does not mean that a large amount of people did'nt know. @Lamtitude4 жыл бұрын
zam iel it was well known that Harvey Weinstein did really creepy things to women in Hollywood. No one really said anything because he had a lot of power and could make or break someone’s career. Also, no one is saying that everyone in Hollywood knew what he was doing, but there were definitely some people that knew what was going on and had heard the rumors and said nothing about it until the story broke. I don’t really blame them for staying quiet, but to act disgusted about it after the fact when some of them already knew something was going on is so weak minded. Staying quiet is different from only speaking out when it’s safe to speak without becoming a martyr.

Very disturbing to realize later that this would be a behavioral indicator of much worse behavior. Makes you think about other people who act the same way and what other disgusting things they are doing. The FBI calls it profiling, and it is eerily accurate.
@simonmcnamee6194 жыл бұрын
Yep, page one of the FBI psych profiling manual reads: 'If someone talks during a film screening, it is a strong indicator that they are a serial rapist.'
@WalterLiddy4 жыл бұрын
Actually, FBI profiling has never lead to a single successful arrest/conviction. Not one. It's widely considered nonsense by professional psychologists.
@simonmcnamee6194 жыл бұрын
@@WalterLiddy That is patently untrue, FBI profiling has lead to a number of arrests; what is disputed is how useful it is for law enforcement and how accurate its profiling relative to other methods. It isn't used to convict people charged with crimes because you don't use profiling to win a conviction in court... Whatever can be said about the merits of profiling, your statement is incorrect.

Yes, telling him "shut the fuck up" and calling his behavior unacceptable is telling him off. And Smith talking about how much respect he'd had for Weinstein before this incident enhancest the story. And as for him being scared, REAL bravery is being afraid and doing what needs to be done anyway.
